But while the Japs estimated that 10, or 900 of the balloon bombs were "effective," latest American figures show that only 225 of the balloons are known to have reached the continent. Most of the balloons carried four incendiary bombs, one anti-personnel bomb, and a flash-bomb to destroy the balloon itself. A majority landed harmlessly. This likeness gets Billy into trouble on more than one occasion. He is accused of cattle rustling and sees a girl die and knows that there is nothing left for him but conviction for the two crimes he did not commit. Tom Roberts, played by Tom Neal, is a much-maligned fellow, the victim of an author who seemed to love to see his main character suffer.

Fearing that he will be accused of the first death is bad enough, but it's worse when he shooting a man and other crimes that his cousin committed. Even his pal, Fuzzy Jones, has his doubts about another man looking so much like Billy. He finally believes his friend and saves him from being lynched so that he can prove his innocence. Frankly we want you (every man and woman) to see M-G-M'S "THE LAST a most unusual picture, already on several "10 Best' lists! We hope this ad will remind you not to miss it! I 'why? BECAUSE we sincerely believe it will have an emotional impact upon our audiences beyond most pictures in recent years.

Come prepared to be shaken, to have your heart nearly burst with sympathy. Here is a love story with only a fleeting kiss, a quick em brace a love story of an imperishable passion even greater than man's love for woman. Here is a mother's love for her boy; a girl's love for an hour's sweetheart; a professor's love of his learning; Yes, it is a love story, but not of just the "boy-meets-girl" kind. The suspense is powerful the thrills are constant. The tale moves from climax-to-climax with the blood beat of many hearts, including your own.

"I don't' know whether it is better in its humanity or its exciting story," said Sinclair Lewis, famed novelist. Each succeeding moment the drama rises, the mountain rises, and men's hopes fall. Here is a moving moving picture! An emotion motion picture! The people in this picture acted with their hearts! The stark drama of "The Last Chance" is the perfect companion feature for the hilarious comedy and gay romance of "GUEST WIFE" starring Clau dette Colbert, Don Ameche and Richard Foran. This is, in our opinion, one of the all-time best movie combinations! You can see both movies starting tomorrow, at Loew'g Paradise, Valencia, Lexington, Olympia, 72nd Street, 83rd Street and 175th Street Theatres. This show will play 54 other Loew theatres within the next several weeks.

We urge you not to miss this unusual two feature show. THE MANAGERS of LOEWS THEATRES in Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester and New Jersey lC S. hi. Off yrctM. IMt, kf Hw gdkm Oa.
