Parker, night watchman, lost his faithful dog last week, by the poison route. Tbe dog waa his constant companion when on duty. He was serviceable in many ways, as a protector, and also as forerunner. Died of Brain Fever. Dr. Endicott was summoned to West I'oint Sunday to attend a young man named Hardy Ellsworth Bruco, who was suffering from brain fever. Miss Winter of lone was engaged, and Dr. Endicott took the nurse up there on Monday. While tlin doctor was there tbe patient died, so tho nurse came back to Jackson tbe same evening, and returned to hor borne iv the valley Tuesday. The deceased was aged 25 years 11 mouths aud 3 days.
