Jody Fern Howard of Frazer, an enrolled member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux tribes, was reported missing Nov. 10, 1991, more than a month after she was last seen Oct. 7 at the Town Pump in Wolf Point. Nelson Heart, special investigative officer with the Bureau of Indian Affairs on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation, said he and other investigators have looked into reported sightings of Howard at various places in the area and in other states, but turned up nothing. "We've just been looking all over," he said.

A report came in that she was seen six days later in a bar at Gardiner, 50 miles to the south, but authorities were unable to confirm the sighting. Authorities have received several tips over the years that Johnson was killed and her body buried, but their digging in the purported locations has turned up nothing, McCann said. Dorothy Smith was last seen Sept. 23, 1989, about three-fourths of a mile from where her broken-down car was discovered on a dirt road in Lime Kiln Canyon in the Judith Mountains about eight miles northeast of Lewistown. Smith, 80 at the time, had been traveling with her 92-year-old brother-in-law, Ervin Smith, when the 1975 Ford LTD broke down. Jetterson County Undersheriff Tim Campbell, who's worked on the case ever since, said he still doesn't know whether the little girl got lost or was abducted.

I She was NYLEEN MARSHALL barefoot and a disappearance age progression wearing shorts and a T-shirt when she wandered off while playing near beaver dams on Maupin Creek, about 15 miles south of Helena. The rain-plagued search extended two weeks and involved tracking dogs, helicopters, airplanes, divers and hundreds of volunteers who combed creek bottoms, mountain ridges and mine shafts. The girl had been with her parents, Kim and Nancy Marshall, who were attending a ham-radio operators gathering in the area. She was last seen by other children along the creek. The Marshalls now live in Japan, said Campbell, who talks with them occasionally.
