Moon Magic Gets Home. Moon Magic did the trick in the opening race, a mile and seventy yards affair, which called out a band of platers with Woodlake the favorite. After Brilliant Jester, Modo and Rough and Ready had done their share of the jamming in the early running, Leyland brought Moon Magic round the others at the turn for home and won by open daylight at 5 to 1. Rough and Ready outstayed George De Mar for the place after Red Harvey had a rough journey on him.

Two-year-olds chased over the mile and a sixteenth route' in the second heat, which was won by Foreman, in the Bedwell colors, with Fields up. Be Yourself was the runner up at the end, four lengths back, while Grand Bey just got up to grab third money. Pheasant and Grand Bey cut out the early pace to the middle of the turn for home with Buttercup, ridden by Maiben, on the outside of the field in third place. Foreman was always in close touch with the front running division and 'smothered the others once the field was straightened away for the stretch run. The winner paid the somewhat fancy price of 16H to 1.
