MISS NEW YORK AT ADVENTURE'S GATES She and Three Companions Leave For Shore Pageant Tuesday Miss New York, that lucky little beach girl who will represent America's greatest city this week in Atlantic City, is knocking at the gates of adventurer Today she is torn between pride at her victory, thrills over her approaching trip, and a wee bit of fear that she may not bring the American beauty crown back to her home city. But those who will make the trip with her her three companions, Miss Brighton, Miss South and Miss Long Beach, and her chaperon, Mrs.

Frank P. Markey, have no such fears. And it is quite probable that the three other beach girls JgfrH:" it I -Js Lilyan Harnach, Miss Long Beach. -V massed with roses. Joseph Trepel, president of Trepel, Florist, will go to Atlantic City himself, accompanied by a designer, to see that the chairs are properly decked out for the event.

The third contest to be entered by Miss New York and her three sisters is the Bathers' Revue, a wonderful spectacle with a wonderful $5,000 trophy as reward. All four girls will wear for this event special bathisg suits made by the Asbury Mills, makers of Annette Kellermann twoin-one beach costumes. And, fourth, the girls will participate in the motion picture contest In between times they have a thousand and one things to do. They will be the darlings around which the whole Atlantic City Pageant a celebration which draws a million participants will center. No queen on a pilgrimage of her dominions ever received a more glittering reception than will be given these four lassies from New York.

And happy? The four of them are simply bubbling over with the sheer joy of anticipation! And they will have a glorious story to tell when they come home. They are Greece, Armenia, Albania, Other Asia and Palestine.

Dinner Tomorrow. Tomorrow night the four lucky misses will be entertained at a dinner at Proctor's Fifth Avenue Theatre Roof. It will be quite a party; a number of prominent persons have accepted invitations, and the girls will get a taste of the entertainment and attention that will be given them when they have landed at Atlantic City. The air trip to the famous ocean resort will take something less than two hours. After hovering over the city the planes will drift down to anchor in the surf, just orf the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the week of conquest, adventure and excitement will have started.

The program of activities during the week -in Atlantic City indicates that etfery moment of every day will be occupied by some pleasant event. On arriving, a motor car will be placed at the disposal of the New York girls and a yacht will be assigned to them. Although the Atlantic City contests will include one beautiful girl from every important city in the country, naturally great many of the events will center about Miss New York, Miss Brighton, Miss South Beach and Miss Long Beach. They will enter four great competitions. The first will be an evening gown parade, with a wonderful trophy as the reward for the most beautiful girl in this costume.

The gowns to be worn by the four entrants from Gotham will be Princess Pat Paris models, especially made for them, and all four are lovely creations. The second competition is the rolling chair parade, in which prizes will be offered for the most appropriately decorated chair. This parade, five miles long, is one of the great features of the Atlantic City pageant. New York's four young ladies will ride in chairs literally low nag at Quarantine so as to claim the first measure of allotment. The King Alexander won, arriving at Quarantine at 1 o'clocke in the early hours of September.

The Acropolis arrived two minutes later. Since the beginning of a new fiscal year, July 1, and up to August 23, the total arrivals of aliens at all ports in the United States, as officially reported, numbered 55,368.
