Until fix this Morning we had a thick Fog, fo that we could not difcern the Works of the Enemy but it clearing a little up, we faw they had raifed Battery of three Pieces of Cannon, and four Mortars on the other Side of the River 1 they began to fire about 7 A. M.

The Englifli have made, a third. The fire of the Mufquetry was jrery on both Sides till Eleven at Night, when the Enemy left off, and we continued ours all Night.

Two Canoes were fent on board the Schooner, who' are to go to Montreal and Timntor. V' i Saturday lift. During Night the Enemy made a 4th Parallel, which is about 100 Yards from the Fort, in which it appears they will erect a Battery for a Breach in the Flag Baftion. They have hardly fired any Cannon or Bombs in the Day, which gives Room to think' they are trasfporting their Cannon and Artillery from fheir old Battfcry to their, new one. The Service at ufual.

Their Battery on the other Side, fired but little in the Day; The Schooner went off to fee two Canoet over to Tironto, one of which is to poft to Montreal, and from thence fee it to cruize oft" Ofwego, to try 19 flop the Enemy's Convoys when on their Way. The Company of Voluntiert are always to pafs the Night in the covered Way. Sunday aid. All the Night was a ftrong Conflict on both Sides. We had one Man killed by them and by 'our own Cannon.

We fired almoft all our Cannon with Cartridges They worked in the Night to perfect all their Works begiln the Night before. The Enemy began to fire red hot Balls in the Night they alfo fired Fire Poles. All fay they continued at Work to eftablifh their Batteries. They fired at ufual, Bombs and Cannon. The Service as ufual for the Night of the zid and jd.

They Worked hard to perfect their Batteries, being ardently fuftained by their Mufquetry, v.Monday 13d. We added two Pieces of Cannon to the Baftion of the to oppofe thofe of the Enemy's Side. At 8 A.M. four Savages brought a Letter from Monfieur Aubrey Monfieur Pouchot, by which we learn; that wat arrived 'at the great Illaad, before the little Fort, at the Head of 1.500 Men, half French, and half Savages i Monfieur Pouchot immediately fent back four Savatet with the Anfwer to M. Aubrey's Letter, informing him of the Enemy's Situ ation.
