She said she would appeal her conviction. In April, county officials placed Devin Wilder in Clark's care after a doctor examined his 2-month-old sister, Makenna, and found 18 broken bones. The county, suspecting abuse, took Devin and Makenna away from their parents. When county officials realized a medical condition made Makenna's bones brittle and prone to breaking, Devin already had died. Autopsy results showed Devin suffered a head injury and was shaken April 21 while at Clark's home.

The granddaughter, her baby and two of Clark's other grandchildren were in the home at the time. The granddaughter, Ellen Crum, was sentenced In December to two years in Juvenile detention for delinquency by reason of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children.
