I » Schoolmates of Yesteryear LOGANSPORT PUBLIC LIBRARV Pictures shown—taken from 1888 to 1917—have been partially identified through the efforts of Will Ball. Margaret Gehring, teacher. Class of 1897-98. Virginia Bradfield has been identified as the fourth girl from the left, third row. Room 12, the Central Building with Ora Cox as teacher, 1892. • . The boy holding slate in front row is Sydney Kaufman, now of Los Angeles. The boy immediately behind him is John Bradfield. . ' Room 3, West-bide with Miss 'Clara Rathfon as as- teacher. Miss Babe Stanley, now Mrs. Floyd O'Neill, is the young lady with the white shawl at the left. Directly back of her is Lenora Uhl, now Mrs. A. P. Flynn. The class of 1900. The picture was taken May 23rd, 1898 on the east steps, since removed, of what was then the high school, and now the administration building, Seventh and Broadway. ' • . . The lad at the left, leaning-against the column, is Dr. Harry Johnson, deceased. The blond girl in .flower skirt-waist in front row is Mrs. Earl Moss. The boy, hair parted in middle, top row is the late James Kimbrough. Tom Flanegm (deceased) is' the lad with striped tie, same row. In front (Broadway^ entrance) high school—1917, .tiarry jjitzer, teacher. Black-hatred boy in front row is- U'rven Lyon flanked by twin sisters, Rose and Daisy Snell. Tall boy in the back row at left is'Sewell Murdock. Some grade classes met in the high school for a few years when high school was new. West'Side school about 1888-1890. Professor Graham N. Berry, principal, is shown at the left. ; The sober looking gentleman at the left is Franz Herrmann, later Dr. Herrmann, who died a few months ago. •Next to him is Bert Winter, ilncle of Dr. D. K. Winter. • • ,,. -,«.,- T • TTUT Second girl fronvleft, second row, is Miss Flo Uhl; the blond girl two to the left of Miss Uhl is Jessie Uhl, now Mrs. Harry Wright. The boy at the extreme right in that row is Frank Parker- (Parker & Johnson) while the boy 'in the ^center of the : top row is:-Charles Grant, one time coal dealer. This picture, taken about 50 years ago, includes Russell Wright, brother of Harry T. Wright and half brother of Miss Anna Garver,, shown second boy from left, front row. He was a student in tlie grades attending school in the high school building. Miss Cora Winter was teacher in the West Side school shown with her class of 1899. Miss Winter was a sister of Miss Mildred Winterand aunt of Dr. D. K. Winter.
