LOUIS (APi Ted Siz-emore's looping hit to left field bounced past a diving Cleon Jones for an inside-the park home run in the 13th inning, giving the St. Louis Cardinals a 3-2 victory over the New York Mets Monday night. Sizemore led off the 13th after Tug McGraw had worked four hitless innings and struck out six in relief of Tom Seaver. Jones elected to try and catch his short fly but the baseball got past him and rolled to the wall as Sizemore circled the bases and scored easily with only his second home run of the season.

It was the Met fifth defeat in their last seven outings and dropped them 8Vz games behind Pittsburgh in the National League East. The Mets tied the score against Bob Gibson in the ninth on successive doubles by Ken Boswell and Duffy Dyer. New York took the lead in the first inning on Wayne Garrett's second home run of the season but the Cards tied it in the bottom of the first on Lou Brock's single and stolen base and Joe Torre's single. St. Louis moved in front 2-1 in the fourth when Torre and Ted Simmons singled and Seaver walked Cruz and Dal inning Monday night that carried the Cleveland Indians to a 6-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox in an American League baseball game.

Hall of Fame game won on 6 Allen RBIs COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) Bernie Allen drove in six runs with three homers to power the New York Yankees to an 8-3 exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the annual Hall of Fame baseball game Monday. Allen capped a five-run fourth inning for New York with a three-run shot, then unloaded a two-run blast in the fifth and a bases-empty drive in the seventh. The home run barrage helped wipe out an early 3-0 Los Angeles lead built on Wes Parker's run-scoring single in the first and Willie Davis' two-run homer in the third. Bobby Murcer delivered a two-run home run before Allen hit his second shot in the fourth.

Wade Blasingame, the New York starter, gained the victory, while Doug Rau, who gave up Allen's first two home runs, suffered the loss. Hunter, 14-5, owning a 2-0 lead going into the fourth, walked Richie Scheinblum and gave up a double to Ed Kirk-patrick. Lou Piniella then hit a sacrifice fly for the Royals' first run.

Perranoski began his major league career with the Dodgers in 1961 and had a brilliant 16-3 record in 1962. He led the National League in games pitched twice and tied for the lead in 1967, his last season with the team. PAUL (AP) Jim Perry, helping himself with a wild unassisted double play, pitched a two-hitter Monday and paced the Minnesota Twins to a 5-0 baseball victory over the Texas Rangers in the American League. With none out in the fifth. Perry lost his no-hit bid when Dick Billings bounced an infield single over the pitcher's outstretched glove and Ted Ford lined a single to right. Rangercatcfier Bill Fahey then hit a soft line drive toward the mound. Plate umpire Bill Haller called the infield fly rule.

Perry deliberately let the ball drop, scooped it up and ran to touch third. In the confusion. Billings trotted toward the dugout and was tagged to complete the double play. Then Perry, 11-9 and winner of four straight, fired the ball over first baseman Harmon Killebrew's head in an effort to get Ford, allowing Ford to go to second. Elliot Maddox flied out to end the inning.

Perry was credited with the automatic out. The Twins got two runs in the second. Danny Thompson sliced a triple to right to drive in Rick Renick, who had walked. Perry lofted a sacrifice fly to bring Thompson home. Bob Darwin hit a three-run homer for the Twins in the eighth.
