HOWARD E. WRIGHT PRESIDENT, PETERSBURG MUSIC CLUB 1 i The ProgxBgg-Index, PoleTeburg-Colonial Heighta, Sept. 29, 1957 11 PETERSBURG LITTLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA RALPH STRQNACH, CONDUCTOR PERFORMS IN DECEMBER, MARCH AND MAY AN OPEN, LETTER FROM MR. WRIGHT Petersburg, Virginia September 28, The Petersburg Music Club opens its season for 1957-'58 on Oct- ber 8 at 8 p. in the -Walnut Hill School.

An unusual treat is in store for this coming season as a varied program has been arranged. Seven of the concerts will be at the school, and Handel's "The Messiah" will be rendered again at Trinity Methodist Church in December as in the past. You will be amply repaid for-the small investment you are making when you take a season ticket at $4. (Students pay only $1.) We must keep music alive in our city, and I am calling upon you to give the Music Club your hearty endorsement, and cooperate by taking a ticket. The Program-Committee has labored hard in engaging me different artists who will appear here.

I feel sure that you will be glad and greatly benefited by working with the club in order that we can continue to give to the citizens of the City of Petersburg fine music in the future as has been given over the many years in the past. The continued functioning of the music club is important for another and entirely different reason. The city's business leaders are endeavoring to attract new industries to our city and, many industries consider all facets of community life before locating a new plant in a city. Cultural factors, as well as the commercial, influence the decision when a new plant city is. chosen.

iS I ask your support of this deserving, endeavor. HOWARD E.
