Fuller, 7 to 11, Moorgate-street, EC. PROSPECTUS. The Company is formed for the purpose of acquiring and working six gold mining leases ia the Murehison district of Western Australia, respectively known as the Irilby, the No. 1 North Trilby, the No. 2 North Trilby, the Blue Auchor, the Blue Anchor North, and the No.

1 North Bine Anchor. These comprise an area of 66 acres or thereabouie. The leases have been developed during the past 15 months by the vendors, the British Westralia Syndicate (Limited), with such satisfactory results that the mines have been equipped with a complete winding and pumping plant and ten-stamp battery. Crushing commenced at the battery on the of September last, and the result of the first clean-up made at tbe end of October gave a return of 4rioz. from 3HQ tons of ore treated, equal to an average of over lioz.

per ton. This result must be regarded as extremely satisfactory, and a butter average return should be obtained from future ore treated, as a considerable amount of gold is always absorbed by the plates of a newly-started mill. The mine has at present only been opened up to water level, with the result that there is now estimated to be 12,000 tons of ore in sight, the assay value of which (vide report) may be taken at lioz. per The facilities for rapid and economical working are eioeuent, tnere jaggf agreed to accept fully paid-up shares in respect of a large pro-being an abundance of fresh water on the property, and mining portil)n of the purchase-price. Umber and fuel in the vicinity of the leases are plentiful, there is important copper and tin properties are also included in the railwaycoinmunicution at Cue, some 26 miles distant.whence the miue 6cheiulie is approached by good roads.

All the mines, interests, and claims scheduled have been purchased Tuc property was selected for the vendors by Mr. Zeoina Jjane, f. rsnnal investigation and insnection by Mr. A. E.

The Company has beeu formed to acquire and carry on the old- established business of ine and spirit merchant, brewer, and hotel proprietor, belonging to Mr. John Harper Graham, of Newcastle-on line and iuniuiesoorougn. The Debenture Stock is redeemable at 110 per cent, on the 31st December, 1920, or in tbeeveut of liquidation of the Company prior to t.har. ihite. The interest, will 1 nairt on the 1st January, 1st April.

1st July, and 1st October in each year the first payment will be made on the 1st April, 1901, and will be calculated from the due dales of the instalments. The Debenture Stock will be secured by a trust deed, constituting a first mortgage on the freehold and long leasehold property of the Company, which, as will be seen from the valuers' report, is of the present value of 339,000. and a floating charge on the other assets of the Company. The amount now issued is only jU3t over one-half of tho valuation of the property specifically mortgaged, and. in the valuers' opinion, is amply secured irrespective of the values of the licences attaching to some of the properties.

The annual interest on the present issue is 8,750, whereas the present annual rental value of such property is, in the valuers' opinion, 14,575, rising to the interest is. therefore, well secured irrespective of the trading profits, but the accountants' certificate shows that the profits in the past hnTe been more than sufficient to pay the interest without reckoning the profits to be derived from the properties recently purchased. The object of the formation of the Company is to obtain the funds necessary to complete the recent purchases and rebuild and extend the Turk's Head Hotel, in Grey street, Newcastle-on-Tyne. Mr. Graham has agreed to act as managing direclur of the Company for five years without remuneration beyond the dividends on his shares, and has further agreed to retain during the same period at least one-halt of the share capital of the Company.

Applications will bo made to the Committees of the Stock Exchanges iu London and Newcastle-on-Tyne for settlements in, and quotations of. the Debenture Stock. Full prospectuses, containing the reports of the valuers and accountants, and forms of application, can be obtained at the offices of the Company and from the brokers, bankers, and solicitors. 3rd December, 1900. yUEEN VICTORIA-STREET, E.C. TTSEFUL CHRISTMAS PRESENTS at very moderate prices. Consisting of a Magnificent PRIVATE COLLECTION of Genuine SHERATON, CHIPPENDALE, and MARQUE TERIE FURNITURE, together with examples of Louis XV. and XVL Cabinets. HAT is NORMAN and STACEY'S PLAN of FURNISHING It is a clever scheme (endorsed even by Mr.

Labouchere. of Truth '') now known ami adopted in ail parts of the English- i speaking world, which enables you to furnish your house or flat throughout, from drawing-room to kitchen (even to the extent i of linens, silver, cutlery, blinds, out of income without disturbing your capital by (instead of paying cash) dividing the whole amount into six, 12, 24, or 36 equal monthly payments. I During the above-mentioned period you can of course at any I time (should you wish it) pay off the amount and avail yourself of the cash discount. ORMAN and STACEY are FREQUENTLY ASKED I why they do not publish a fixed scale ol payment. Their reply thereto is that, in view of the fact that their customers principally belong to the higher classes, experience has taught them that customers much prefer to submit their own terms of payment.

Doubtless among the poorer classes a fixed scale is advisable. There is scarcely a recoenised tawr of any standing that has not during the last few years considered it its duty to call attention to Norman and Stacey's Instalment Plan of Furnishing. Ladies should make a point of paying a visit to NORMAN and STACEY'S SHOW-ROOMS and compare quality and prices with those of other large Houses. Messrs. Stanley, Money, and Walker, Perth, Western Australia. Secretary and Offices W. Beavis, 54 and 55, PROSPECTUS. This Company ia formed as a general Exploration and Development Company, under the direction in Western Australia of Mr.

A. E. Morgans, Member of the Legislative Assembly, to acquire and develop in the first place the extensive mineral properties in that Colony described in the schedule hereto.to promote remunerative public works conducive to mining interests, and generally to carry on the business of concessionaires, and contractors for public and private undertakings. claims and interests held under the Goldtields Act and Regulations and the Mineral Act and 01 western Australia in a district practically undeveloped. It will be noted troci tue accom- mnvini thai nnmp nf aha claims have been Drohtablv worked up to a point by local owners, whose operations have been restricted for want of the working capital and modem plant requisite to handle the large bodies of ore now accessible.

In view of the profitable results anticipated from the operations of this Company, such owners, when Managing Director of the Westralia Mount Morgans Gold Mines Company (Limited), the shares of which are earning large dividends and command a high premium, who is well known in the Colony as a high authority on all matters connected with mining interests. He re-sells the properties to the Company at a profit, retaining a large interegL its shares, and placing his services at the disposal of the Ttrw-rrt njj Mana-in- Director in Western Australia. The properties now acquired are situated in the North-West pastoral territory in the vicinity of Marble Bar, Warrawoona, Nuliagine. and Roeburne, their distance from the coast varying from 25 to 130 miles. The Croydon Copper Mino is within 25 miles of the Port of Balla-Balla, whilst the Government road from Port Hedland (a good harbour, upon which considerable outlay has been incurred) passes through Marble Bar to Nuliagine.

It is anticipated that a railway will be constructed at an early date from Port Hedland through the latter district, as a resolution recommending the construction of the railway was catried in the Legislative Assembly during the Session of lytfJ. BRITISH EXPLORATION of AUSTRALASIA (Limited). Reports upon the properties, together with plans, have been submitted by Mr. Morgans and Mr. J.

E. Weir, juu. The Directors dssire draw attention to the following extracts irom Mr. Morgans's reports Chamberlain" Mis Es. About 400ft.

from tho south-eastern boundary an underlay shaft has been sunk to a depth of 90ft. Iu this shaft the average width of the vein is from 2ft. 6in. to 3ft. At a depth about 90ft.

from the outcrop of the vein on the other side of the hill, a tunnel of 132ft. in length has been put in to intersect rue vein, which it did. and was driveu upon north-east aud south-west for a distance of 28ft. and 25ft. respectively.

The ore removed from the vein in carrying out the operations described amounted to 196 tons. This was crushed, and resulted in a yield of 495oz- of gold, showing an average of about 2joz. per ton. On the same reef, at a point where the vein turns to its original direction, another shaft of 20ft. in depth has been sunk upon a vein about 2ft- wide.

Fifteen tons of this ore gave a return of a little over 3oz. per ton iu crushing." Baden-Powell Mines. "The vein averages in this shaft and open cut from 8ft, to Sft. wide. The whole of the stone taken out during the sinking operations has beeu crushed without any selection, and has resulted in an exceedingly good yield of gold per ton.

The first 340 tons crushed yielded of gold, and the second lot of tons yielded 2.18Soz. This g-id has a value of 3 19s. to 4 jier It will be seen from these results that out of this shaft 1,110 tuns ere crushed, yielding of gold. This shows a general average 3oz. ldwt, per ton of ore.

Tailings from these crtishings average from 6dwts. to Sdwts. per ton, and the blanket concentrates run about per too. Taking into accouut the gold left in the tailings and blanketings, I estimate the fire assay of the vein matter in this shaft Sjoz. per ton.

The width of the stone in the shaft is known to be over but as it has not all been taken out between the walls, the exact width is not known. At the bottcm of the shaft, which is 140ft. below the outcrop, the stone is nearly 9ft. in width, and assays from 2joz. to 3oz.

per ton." Roberts' Mines." The main reef is somewhat flat, and has an average width of a little over 3ft. An underlay shaft has been put down for about loOf all in gold-bearing quartz of an average value more than an ounce to the ton. About 80ft. down this underlay shaft a drive has been put in on the course of the vein for a disLance over 200f in which the vein is found to maintain its width and value. At the bottom of the underlay shaft a driie has been put in a distance of more than where also the vein maintains its vaiue ami width.

More than 2,900 tons of ore have been crushed from these drives, and from some stuping that was done a yield of about wif. per tun was obtained by amalgamation, and about 7dwts. remained in the tailings." NfLLAUlNE "There are at least nine stratified deposits known to exist, varying from 3ft. to oft. iu width, all of which carry gold.

All of are composed of conglomerates in many cases resembling the Bauket formations of the Rand. A very large number of samples have been taken from Ihese conglomerate deposits where it has beeu possible to gel atthem.and many hundreds tons have been crushed which have shown an average of more than half-au-ounce of gold to the ton, obtained upon the plates. It is known, however, that a considerable quantity of gold gets aw ay in the tailings, most of which will be saved when a proper plant has been erected for tneir treatment. The successful exploitation of the conglomerates will depend chiefly upon two points, first, a systematic development of the stratified deposits on the most approved plans for extraction of the ore cheaply and expeditiously, and secondly, upon the erection of a plant with sufficient capacity to treat 200 to 300 tons per day at least. With regard to the developments of these deposits they lend themselves to tile introduction of an economic sy3tera, and sinkiug a centre shaft at a point north-east of Cook's Hill, the whole of these deposits can be developed and worked from one shaft.

I have examined mostcaiefully these deposits, and I was greatly impressed with the immense possibilities that may result from their active and systematic development. The great object of course to be aimed at is to design the plant and machinery, and lay out the underground workings, upon line that will economise labour. If this is done. I am convinced that 6dwts. per ton will more than pay all the expenses." Tin Mines.

"The properties under consideration contain about 140 acres, but there has been very little development work done except in one particular spot, where about 40 tons of alluvial tin have been obtained by sluicing. The shipment of the first 17 tons of thi3 tin, after paying expenses of freigia from the coast of Singapore, and smelting charges, resulted in a n' return of 1,485. or at the rate of 87 per ton. From these figures it ill be seen that the alluvial tin from this field is very pure and of excellent quality." Croydon Copper Mine. Up to the time of my visit about 300 tons of ore had been taken from the outcrop and shipped to the smelting works.

These shipments resulted iu an nverage of 25 per cent, of copper since that time a further 150 tons have been shipped, wiucn resuiitain an average percentage or S3 D3 per cent, ot copper, and yielded a net result of 15 per ton. l'rom tne toiegn leL'omeit will be seen that the Conner ore in this mmp large quantities has resulted in a very high assay value, and looking at the fact that the whole of the material taken from the deposit has been shipped nithout any selection, the result must be looked upon as very gratifying. At the time of my visit the deposit in the 50ft. level varied from 14ft. to 17ft.

in width, and was at that time about 60ft. in length. Samples from the floor of this drive gavi averages of over 40 per cent, of copper. Th character of the ore is black oxide of copper mixed with considerable quantities of copper sulphide, which is one of the most valuable forms of copper ore." RITISH EXPLORATION iLimitftdL of AUSTRALASLA The purchase priee for the prouer. ies has been fixed by the Vendor 310,000, payable as to 00,000 in cash and as to 250,000 in fully KfE.w,,"" The Vendor will nav all the exuensea connected with thp fnmninn the Company up to the date of allotment, including registration and brokerage.

The main workings are on the Trilby lease. The main shaft is 86feetdeep, lofeel by 4 leet in the clear, ith two winding compartments and pump shaft. The shaft is complete to the SI feet level, where a good plat is cut out and limbered, and connections made with the aliove mentioned levels. The levels are now ready for stuping, and I estimate the quantity ot in sight at 12,000 tons that will average lioz. er ton.

"From my intimate connection with the mine during the last six months, and tie very favours ble developments that have occurred in that time.

I nave no Hesitation in saying the mine will pay handsomely iu the very near future. Yours faithfully, "(Signed) Thos. Crekr, M.E." The follow ing report ha1-been made by lb. Zebina Lane, under date ot November SStli, 1900: The property has an area of about 66 acres, being the total acieagp of six leases which all adjoin, and is situated in thcTneka-liaia district of the Nannine Goldnelds, W. and 26 miles from the town of Cm which is at present the terminus of the railway, but the Nauuiin- line is now surveyed and a railway station located tfaiie close to the pioperty.

I visited the place and made a casual survey in August. WfiW, and being impressed with the value of the or in leases, 1 secured an option of purchase, which option was exercised after doing a fail amount of prospecting with favourable results. Up to th 22nd Aoust this year 44S feet of sinking, 235 feet of crosncutung, and 1,814 feet of driving on the course of the lode had been accomplished wiih wry gratifying results: indeed, so good have the developments lieen that a ten stamp mill has been erected, with uecesary winding and pumping p.ant, and the main shaft sunk dov. to a depth of 150 feet, ihe first station being at a depth of 86 feet or water level, as the prospecting work was done just on top of the water to save expense. Over 12.000 tons of ore have thus been exposed, and as it samples all round over au ounce to the ton, the RLumtis will be kent regularly running on highly payable ore, while the main haft is being sunk and anolher and deeper level below tie- water opened up.

'j he ten stamps, started at the end of September, crushed during O'-ioberSoO tons for a return of 446oz. smelted gold, and having run pretty icgular.y during November will, no doubt, return even a better average than the above. As the ground can be cheaply and easily worked, and as fuel and good fresh water are both abundant, I am of opinion that the mine will pay handsomely fnrtsoiue. time to come, apart from all the chances and indications in better gvade ore being discovered as depth is attained.
