Martin, 62, of Route 1, Mount Hope, vfll be conducted at 1 p.m. today the Weinvood Community Church with the Rev. Ernest Barey, Bradley, in charge.

Burial will ye in the Humphrey Cemetery at Willis Branch. Martin died at his home Thursday. Death was attributed to complications from a long illness. A retired miner, he was born in 'ayette County, Dec. 22, 1898.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. 'irgie Green of Willis Branch, Mrs. Mollie Wagenor, of Mount Hope, and Mrs. Emma Prett of "'ayetteville. The body will remain at the Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope.

Livelys Hold Family Gathering In Fayette County imnn Tirop i A reunion was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Canterbury of Lively Wednesday evening for the family of the late Andrew and Nancy Da- yis Lively. It was the first time in about 60 years the family had all been together at the old homestead.

Mrs. Clara Williams and Mrs. Claudia Canterbury, both of Pax, and E. W. (Fisher) Lively of Wallowa, Ore.

Delia Lively, Miss Hazel Lively, and Mrs. Jess Humphrey, all of Lively, Oral Lively of Norton, Mrs. Bessie Lively and Miss Beatrice Lively, both of Long Branch, and Miss Jackie Williams of Pax. Stiffler Dies; LANSING. JENS) Ora Daniel Stiffler, 86, of Lansing died Friday morning in a Fayetteville nursing home after a long illness.

A native of Jackson County, Ohio, he was a retired miner. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary McGhee and Mrs. Sarah Pyatt, both of Valrico, and a brother, Joseph Stiffler of Willoughby, Ohio. The funeral will be conducted ai 2:30 p.

m. Sunday in the Ames Presbyterian Church at Lansing with the Rev. John Bragg and the Rev. 0. C.

FAYETTEVILLE (RNS) The regular monthly meeting of the American Legion auxiliary Unit o. 149 was held Tuesday evening the Chestnut Room of the Home on Maple Avenue. The formal opening was in charge of the president, Mrs. Keith Hunt. Hags were advanced by the assistant sergeant-at-arms, -Mrs.

J. Riley Propps, and acting sergeant- at-arms, Mrs. John Tamplin. In the absence of the secretary, Mrs. Oscar Henderson, the minutes of the previous meeting were read by the acting secretary, Mrs.

Mrs. Mildred Surbaugh, guest soloist sang, "Father In Heaven," accompanied by Mrs. A. F. Sentz at the Mrs.

William G. Farmer, national vice president of the Council of American Baptist" Women, was guest speaker. Her topic was "How Important are Missions Both at Home and in Foreign Fields?" Highlight evening was the fly-up ceremony and inves- ture of five girls. Mrs. Carl Mack, committee member, conducted fly-up ceremonies for the Brownies, who were invested by Mrs.

Paul Greer, Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Greer's daughter, Betsy, one of the girls to be invested, was pinned with the same pin with which her mother was invested Others attending were she became a Girl Scout at Athens. Student Teachers At Pinevilie High Two Concord College students are doing practice teaching at Pinevilie High School for the next eight weeks.

They are Thomas Stone and Mrs. Marietta Cook. Stone will have two biology classes, one social science, and one world history. Critic teachers are Robert and David Acord. Mrs.

Cook will teach English 9, 10, and 11 and Speech. Critic teachers are Mrs. Pat Bower and Mrs. Frances Hamlin. Report On District Meet Given At WSCS Meeting FAYETTEVILLE (RNS) "Faith As Our Shield" was usedj for an opening meditation by Mrs. Jack Wendell, president of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Fayetteville Methodist Church, at the regular monthly meeting Wednesday night. The meeting was held in the sanctuary of the church.

A report was given that five members had attended the fait district meeting held in Mount Hope Oct. 12. They were Mrs. F. J.

Morris, Mrs. F. G. Janutolo, Mrs. H.

A. Cottrell, Mrs. Eugene E. Houchins, and Mrs. Kate Spicer.

Announcement was made that the. society had bought a new couch for the parsonage. Mrs. Harry Aliff, chairman of Circle 2, announced that Mrs. William Martin had become a new member and would serve with her group.

James Clark, 54, Is Electrocuted ITMANN (RNS James 54, Kegley, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Wyoming General Hospital at 5:35 a.m. Friday after being electrocuted in an accident at Itmann Mine No at 3 Clark, a mechanical engineer at he mine, was killed when his neck became entangled in a trol- ey wire. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America, Local Union No. 1459, at Itmann, Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Prince-; on, and Loyal Order of Moose in Welch.
