PAGI5 SIX ACTION Great Floor Show, Superb Music and Wonderful Appointment Make Gene Daniels Place One of Hottest In State. CINCINNATI COTTON CLUB ALSO "READY" By WILLIAM G. MINN, Citv Editor. COLUMBUS, Nov. We missed the "grand slam" opening of Gene Daniels' Pythian Cotton Club here last Saturday night by not more than a few hours, en route to Cincinnati, where we went on a flying visit, but we stopped In at the place in the wee hour of Monday morning, and saw one of the finest night clubs Ohio has ever known.

Located on the second floor of the Pythian Theater building up on ML Vernon avenue in this bustling, thriving Ohio metropolis, we stood and marvelled at the dash and class of the place which has been opened for the enjoyment of Columbus people. Working in partnership with Dan on this big time" venture are Dewey Puckett and Berke Hester, two "regular who are past masters of suave hospitality. Seats For 40O Guests The placa, with a spacious bal cony running around one side of the main floor, is a marvel of beauty and elegance, and still it retains that warm intimacy which is so conducive to Injecting the atmosphere of a real night club. With tables placed to 'advantage all around a polished dance floor, which glistens In the soft lights, which seem to make everything so Cory. th management of the place lnforrqed us that 400 patrons can be seated, and a 1 of them can see every detail of tie marvelous floor how, which is one of the features of the place.

Olebritiett On Hand Saturday night celebrities whose names are llnkei with the "Social Register" of Ohio, turned out en msjff fo pay tribute to; those who opened the place. Seen at the opening were Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd Jones. Cecelia Chancellor, Mrs.

Trene Hylton, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hicks, with a party which consisted of Dr. and Mrs. Harmon Wilson.

Mrs. Harold Dickinson, Mrs. Mabel Payne, wife of Cleveland's progressive councilman, and Dr. Sydney Sloan. At another table Mr.

and Mrs. George Boswell were hosts to a large party. Also seen were C. C. Bruce and Waldo Tyler, the former a confirmed bachelor, and the latter a bachelor benedict, and scores of others.

Music ia furnished by the Eleven Red Hot Dixie Rhythm Boys of Illinois. And the way this bunch can play ia the very last word. Another "CottonCluV And while we were zooming along through Ohio, we heard of another marvelous "Cotton Club." This place is in Cincinnati, at the Hotel Sterling, located at Sixth and Mound streets, and ia under the capable management of Mr. Michaelson, who has taken over the hotel and the cabaret after a number of years' absence. Sunday evening, we found the place packed to the door, with C.

S. Eelton and hi famed Society Syncopators doing their stuff to the edification of a public which have taken them to their bosoms. And we heard them go "over the air" directly from the ballroom of the place, with a colored announcer "doing his stuff in the approved fashion. We're going to do a real story on this youngster some day soon, and until then, we're going to let you whet your appetite wondering about him. A fine floor show enhances the place.
