WAVE LENGTHS By AILEEN ECKSTEIN Radio Editor ELDER SOLOMON Lightfoot Michaux does his congregational reviving somewhere "on the banks of the Potomac," presumably not far from Washington, as the capital link picks up his session every Saturday night at 7:30 and brings it into New York via WABC at that hour. Elder Michaux is unconsciously one of the best radio exultants. He sells religion with Kariem variations. He may be doing it as deliberately as Aimee Semple McPherson revives in Los Angeles and elsewhere, but he certainly is doing an entertaining job. He is a Reverend in the Calloway manner.

And this is not disparagingly meant. He has evidently gotten the idea that religion as well as anything else must take on the modern aspect if it wants to claim attention from the layman. And with this in mind he speaks in rhythm and his flock gives out "Amens" that sound 'or all the world like this Harlem idiom "Yeah Man." AI ELDER MICHAUX Is certainly patriotic. Ha is for the NRA twice. Once as General Johnson would have it, and the other idea of NRA is his own National Revival Administrations.

He has many' converts to the air waves at 7:30 Saturdays and seems to be doing it more and more every week. Tune in. h.s modern philosophising may do your soul a much needed favor. Al RICHARD B. HARRISON iT)e Lawd) was the guest artist on the Southernaires program, Sunday.
