TVMailbag Nepean Street Viewer: I am still peeved over the opinion of. that:" "Metcalfe street viewer" regarding Charlie Chamberlain of Don Messer show. I think he should write an apology to Charlie explaining the missive as simple ignorance. The Don Messer Show is among the best, and the "quiet time!" song is such an inspiration. I'm sorry the program isn't on twice a week, but am happy that we can look forward to" it at least once a week for a long time to come, I Hope.

Mrs. H. B. Carling avenue: 1 follow your column in The Journal and enjoy your comments on TV, but it seems to me you could do a little more on radio. 1 want to say I was very disappointed we are getting a repeat on Christmas Eve, and not a very cheerful one either for people who are lonely or unwell and who possibly look forward to Close-Up.

For myself, the wonderful bustle and joy. of a home and five children will keep me from depending on Close-up that evening. (NOTE: Close-Up Christmas Eve will be repeating a documentary film about European refugees.) J. I- MaeKay street: Could you please give me the following information. What is the name of the march played at the beginning of the Jim Coleman show? Who is the composer, and is it published for brass bands as well as military bands? (NOTE: CBC promises a reply to these questions in next Saturday's TV Mailbag.) J.

Ma tier, Ottawa: I was surprised to see in your column Monday evening that you were pleased with Frank Sinatra's show. I usually agree" with you in your criticisms of some of these shows, such as the Fred Astaire show, etc I personally think the Sinatra show smelled. Sinatra cannot sing? and Peter Lawford, though usually funny was not on this program. I don't like Ella Fitzgerald's singing 1 will take the Hi Los and you can have the rest. Now I would like to congra-ulate producers of the Wally Koster (Hit Parade) show this week.

In my opinion it was far ahead of Sinatras! Peter Palmer was very good as were Wally, Jovce Hahn and Travellers also tlje bSy who sang DaiJnyi-BtJyT He" has" a very food voice. 1 would ljke to mention that the Joan Fairfax show on Sunday-was' not up to its usual standard. The songs were badly picked and 1 would like to see her get better guest singers than Allan Blye and the chap who Sunday. Maybe I'm too old fashioned, but I do like to hear good singing. (NOTE: Funny thing, really, in view of what you say about Sinatra and 'Ella who are Free RADIO Free 'Dumont $59-95 Portable was With purchase of 'New G-E, Phillips, Philco TV Easy Terms EXCEL TV SALES 1)1 ladAajfiM-ati among the very best in my book but I'll join 'n applause for Hit Parade.

It has been consistently good. I'll agree: with you, too, that the Juan' Fairfax show had indifferent to bad musical selections last week, Tout where Allan Blye and Ken Steele are concerned, I'm four-square, ag'in you. 1 don't think Joan could nave better guests.) Bob Burgess, The Journal: Thanks ro the many who were kind enough to send Christmas greetings to this corner, and to the faithful who have kept the TV Mailbag rolling along with thoughtful and interesting letters. May you all enjoy the merriest of Merry Christmascs. Movies This Week On Channel -8 Sunday.
