AA Nickelodeon, home to the "Rugrats" franchise for the past decade, will move forward with the series' first spin off, called "Angelica and Susie's School Daze," which will revolve around the preschool characters Angelica Pickles and Susie Carmichael. Nickelodeon series, which is similar to Comedy Central's "Battlebots" series, according to a Nickelodeon spokesman.

Nickelodeon has ordered six episodes of the series. "My Neighbor is a Teenage Robot" follows a girl robot who defends the Earth from its enemies, even though she'd rather be attending high school. The network has ordered 13 episodes.

"Max and Ruby" is a preschool show about brother and sister bunnies that will join its weekday morning Nick Jr. lineup. Nickelodeon executives also unveiled plans to launch a two-hour afternoon block of action adventure shows on Sundays at 4 p.m. next fall. Titled "Nickelodeon Slam," the block will include "Robot Wars," a toned-down version of the same-named TNN has ordered 13 episodes of the series.

For the week, CBS averaged 14.5 million viewers, NBC had 12.3 million, ABC averaged 7.7 million, Fox also had 7.7 million, UPN had 3.6 million and the WB totaled 3.3 million NBC's "Nightly News With Tom Brokaw" won the evening news ratings race with 10.7 million viewers. ABC's "World News Tonight With Peter Jennings" had 10.1 million, while the "CBS Evening News With Dan Rather" drew 8.9 million.

The Associated Press rating an indication that a -greater number of people are watching it alone. It has been a remarkable run for the NBC drama, which after this season loses original actors Anthony Edwards and Eriq LaSalle.
