Mr. Edwards' Gaest Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edwards ranted a cottage at Idlewlld for several weeks and they had for a week at their guests Mr. and Mrs.

Caseiua Smith of Louisville. Ky. At Peat water Fifty two miles from Idlewlld, at Pen twater, there are a group of folk hunting rest, and they seem to be really finding it. The group la composed of Mr. and Mrs.

Miss Brown is one of the youngest principals in the citv and is the first colored woman to be hon ored in this manner. Miss Brown is a member of one of the oldest colored families of Ha: iwburg and has a wide circle of relatives and friends from coast to coast. Miss Brown is also the granddaughter of Mrs.

C. M. Brown of Harrisburg, the niece of Mrs. E. Duval Colley of Cincinnati and Mr.

Howard D. Brown, Grand Master of Masons in the state of Washington. She is the sister of Mrs. Verner Mundy of, Paducah, and Mrs. L.

A. Taylor, of Philadelphia. She is the cousin of Mr. Richard S. Brown, of Los Angeles, CalM and the Misses Ida and Emilie Brown, of Seattle, and Philadelphia.

Ulysses A. Ridley and granddaughter of the late Judge and Mrs. George L. Ruffin. Judge Ruffin was the first Negro graduate from the Harvard Law school, finishing in the class of 1869; at the time of his death: in 1886 and several years preceding, he was Judge of the Municipal Court, Charleston.
