Authorities want to figure out whether the container was empty when the children found it. The fire department notified area schools and solicited the help of the local media to try to identify the youngsters. "We're not quite sure what we said NRC spokesman Jan Strasma. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission dispatched staff to Cleveland to check the neighborhood where the children were seen playing with container contaminated with Cesium 137. The search and the NRC surveillance were triggered by the discovery Wednesday of a 200-pound lead-shielded containmarked "Caution: Radioactive The Cleveland Fire Department said a passing driver noticed three children, ranging in age from about 8 to 14, playing with the container around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The unidentified man chased the children away, took the container home and called the fire department. Obituaries MULLINS, Patrick George, age 58, of Moraine, died Saturday, March 19, 1994 at Kettering Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Michelle Mullins; daughter, Patricia Smith of Columbus; two sons, Kevin Mullins of Columbus and P.J, Mullins one stepdaughter, Dawn Ward of Newark; one stepson, Wayne Gleissner of Dayton; 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Meagher of NY and Patricia Kenny of IL. Services will be held on Monday, March 21, 1994 at 3 P.M. at the Routsong Funeral Home; 2100 E. Stroop Kettering, OH.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 3. P.M. If desired, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. NICOLOSI, Joseph of New Carlisle, Ohio, died Friday, March 18, 1994 at the Dayton VA Medical Center Hospice Unit. He was born April 12, 1923 in Brooke lyn, NY, the son of Nicola Caterina (Cudia), Nicolosi.

He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. Hehad worked for many years in the business, starting numerous restaurants including Poppa Joe's Pizzerias. Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, John. Survivors include 2 sisters, Anna Nicolosi and Josephine Nicolosi, both of Brooklyn, NY and extended family, Linda, Charles, Rebekah, Rachel, Elizabeth Charles, Jr. Captain; Cody Coleman, Lorrie, Jason, Lance Angela Amburgey, all of New Carlisle.

Service will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 22, 1994 in the Catholic Chapel at the Veterans Administration in Dayton. Burialin Dayton National Cemetery. Friends may call 6- 8 P.M. Monday in the Trostel, Chapman Christmas Funeral Home, New Carlisle and 15 minutes before service in the chapel.
