Collecting Evidence Sheriff A. A. Anderson of Graham county, was Jn the city yesterday conferring with the officials of the sheriff's, office here over the evidence In the case of Roberts and Rose, who are charged with the killing of Con Sullivan in Graham county a few-weeks since.

Sheriff Anderson has leen spending considerable time since the crime was committed In trying to locate Roberta and has followed any number of clews that have led him to various parts of territory, but so far without success. He returned home this morning. Representatives df the S. marshal's office from Tucson have been In the city for the past few days getting' the names of the jurors from the Jury box who win he canea to serve unon the coming session of the United States grand jurjv which has been called to meet here bn the 26th Instant. The work of serving the summons will require considerable time, as the names of those drawn are tak en from the great registers of Cochise and Santa Cruz counties and the residences of the jurors scattered from the Chiracahans to Nogales.

If plans that are now being supported by the leaders are carried out. the Episcopalians of this parish will within the coming year begin the construction of a' mag nlflcent church on their property on North Center street adjo'nlng the Arizona School qf Music, tbe cost of which will be between $50,000 and $100,000. By raising $1000 during tho past low days, the fund to be used In raising a mortgage on the Center street property.

George M. Halm and Elliott Evans have given the new church project an Impetus that promises to tarry it to completion. AH this was made known and talk ed over at tho meeting last night of the vestrymen of the Episcpal church. Halm and Evans announced what thev had been able to do. and it was said that an eastern' patron of the local church will contribute $750, which will completely relievo tho Cen ter street lots of encumbrance.

Developments on tho Keystone are very satisfactory and give assurance of another successful Lew-lsohn flotation when in the opinion of the management the property has been sufficiently explored. The long tunnel which Is (last Monday, and will sink the shaft in low grade ore nearly Its entire to a depth of 120 I feet. The anag length has shown great Is also preparing prospect the last hundred feet driven, the ore averaging 2 per cent copper, ana tne breast being now In 2 1-2 per cent ore. The formation Is schist and tho conditions arc almost Identical with 1 those which obtain In tho Miami mine. The copper exists In the form of chalcocite and the recent work In opening the tunnel has disclosed velnlets or seams of copper varying In thickness from a knife blade to 21-2 inches. The tunnel has been driven to within 500 feet of the vertical shaft and will be continued to a connection with It at a depth of 87 feet, and If driven beyond the shaft to the northern boundary of the property, this tunnel will attain a vertical depth of 350 feet- Just across the l'ne dividing the Live Oak from tho Keystone property, the General Development company has developed sulphide on the Keystone by drilling with churn drills.

The Live Oak will soon resume sinking Its vertical shaft. Developments In the East Country. Tho eastern end of Globe district is not lagging In the race for mining honors. General Manager Bennie is now here and President Amstcr is expected In Globe April 20. Cordova Copper Company. Tho Gem shaft of tho Cordova Copper company they aro drlgtlng on the vein from the crosscut on tho 1200-foot level, where rich oro was recent Iv struck. The vein at that point has been opened for seventy-five feet and the ore Is as good it not better than In tho crosscut.

A number of assays return from 5 per cent to 9 per cent copper. The ore Is a clean sulphide. carrying high percentage of sulphur and Iron. Sinking from the 1200-foot level of the Gem shaft will be started aithln a day or two. At tho Eureka property of the Cordova Copper company sinking will begtn some time this week.

Annther strike of hlch grade sul phide was made Friday on tho 400-foot level. The ore was encountered in driving crosscut from the foot wall, 300 feet south of the shaft. There are eighteen Inches of the high grade ore and considerable more that will probably run 5 per cent in copper. The winze from the 400-foot level Is In chalcopyrlte, going 20 cent copper at sixty-flve feet below the level. The 6U0-foot level dntt has 250 feet to go to catch, the ore shoot opened by tho winze above.

Arizona-Colorado. Tho Arizona-Colorado company re- enn tho rrrnnnd north and south from the crosscut on the 800 level. By drilling a thousand feet each way from the ends of the crosscuts, the ground will ni be prospected ior a a siance 01 i feet. The thirty-foot vein on wmca a drift w-as run seventy-nve feet, is one" of the most promising veins In the district and on the 1200-foot level should show decided Improvement. Arlzona-Mlchiaan.

The Arizona-Michigan shaft Is go ing down rapidly. It is now 220 feet deep and there is an increased showing of copper stain. General Manager S. W. Clawson, who returned last Thursday from Los Angeles, Is greatly pleased with the progress made In slnklmr durlnc his absence, and en couraged by the Improvement shown in the formation.

Exploitation of Du Quesne. The Du Quesne Mining, company. recently incorporated by Pennsyiva nia and Globe capital. Is pushing work on a very promising group of claims, situated In the Finals atoui ten miles west of the city. The company has plenty of money for devel opment purposes, and as aoon as a road is completed to the property, Iwh'ch will be In about three weeks, development work will be rushed.

There is an air of romance about the founding and development of the camp that could not help but lend a charm to a narration were It handlsd by proper and reliable hands. It is not expected that tne work will be completed for a year yet. An extension of over 1000 feet Is being made to the public light service on the mesa. This will mean thai, practically every street will Tiavo a good share of arc lights, oiaklng Cananea one of the bet -lighted cities In Sonora or the southwaat. The main street near the Banco Mercnntll building Is being regradod, and tho open place In front of tho building will be filled even with tho sidewalk.

George Young, secretary of the Cananea Consolidated Copper Company and manager of tho Cananea stores, has returned from a six weeks' sojourn In Southern California. R. C. Brown came in over the No-gales lino a few- days ago and has been busy Interviewing local the interests of the Tucson Star. Brown was agent for tho Review hero for several years and lie finds It hard to pull himself away from his former home.

Amado Gultlerrez, thet Mexican pitcher who did so well In the Innings he faced the Chicago White Sox in. El Paso a few weeks ago, camo in yesterday and Joined the local team. He is a husky lad and with the strong team he will have back of him should have a good record to his credit when tho season closes. Brown to Become Freight and Passenger Agent for E. P. S. W. CHICAGO.

April 15. The announcement was made here today that A. N. Brown, general freight agent ot the El Paso and Southwestern railroad company, has been appointed general freight and passenger agent for that company, the appointment to become effective May 1. V.

R. Stiles, general passenger agent ot tho Southwestern, will retire from that position on May 1, and the offices ot general freight agent and general passenger agent will be consolidated under the management of Mr. Brown. The appointment ot Eugene Fox, now general agent In Chicago for the Southwestern, to be assistant general freight and passenger agent In EI Paso, Is also announced, to become effective on the same day on which Mr. Brown assumes his duties.

The circular making official an nouncement of these appointments will bo Issued In a few days. Mr. Brown was formerly general frp'pht and nossencer agent of the El Paso and Northeastern, and when It was purchased by the Southwestern, he became general freight agent of the consolidated lines. Ho Is onp of the most popular railroad officials In the west and Is considered as com petent as he Is popular. Mr.

V. Stiles has been wun ioe Paso and Southwestern since the building of the road from Benson to BIsbee. He is very popular in BIsbee and Douglas and is the owner of considerable property In tho smelter city. At one time It was reported that Stiles would probably make his home In Douglas and start a business enterprise hero after he was relieved from his duties with the railroad. Should he conclude to do this ho would receive a hearty welcome from a host of friends In this city.

George H. Moses, who has been I annotated minister to Greece and 'Montenegro, has been a prominent figure for many years in isew Hampshire political life. 'He was a delegate to the last national republican convention at Chicago and was an ardent Kunnorter of Vlco President Fairbanks for the presidential nomi nation.
