Stokes Emerges As Offensive Punch By Jim Van Valkenburjf Associated Press Sports Writer Wednesday, Sept. 29-- KANSAS CITY (AP) Sim Stokes was described by Kansas teammate Bob Skahan before the season as a better all-around player than departed All American Gale Sayers. Skahan's comment raised some eyebrows, although the quarterback explained he didn't think Stokes was even close to Sayers as a ball carrier. He insisted Stokes was a better receiver, blocker and a Stokes said "It's really something to even be compared with Gale." Stokes was something of a bust in the opener at Texas Tech.
