Howard Virgil Bryan, 21, enlisted In December, 1941, after graduating from Bakersfield High School and IB new stationed at San Diego, brother, Bruce A. Bryan, 18, seaman second class. in taking an electrical course at Unlvemlty of Minnesota, at Minneapolis. He enlisted In February, 1944. Seaman Bryan Is a graduate of Bakersfleht High School and was formerly at MrKee Electrical Company.

Three Bakersfield men are receiving: their initial naval indoctrination at the United States Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, 111. Bitters, 24, son of Mrs. Stella Irene Bitters, 518 Chester avenue, received his sliver navigator wings at Hondo Army Air Field, Hondo, Texas, recently and was commissioned second lieutenant. Private First Class John E. Becas, son oC Mr. and Mrs.

Louis Becas, 8,10 Sonera street, has graduated from demolition school at Fort Benning, where he has received training of the paratroopers. Corporal William A. Schlotthauser, now assigned to duties with the Eleventh Army Air Forces in the Aleutian islands, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant. Sergeant Schlotthauser was inducted into the army in December. 1941, and has served for 21 months in the Aleutians, lie has received the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon and the Aleutian Campaign Star.

Prior to entering the service, he was employed as file clerk and railway traffic clerk with the Southern Pacific Railway Company. He attended the Bakersfield High School. His parents, Mr. and Mi's. John II.

Schlotthauser, reside on Route 6, Bakersflold. Jack McClure White, seaman first class, has completed the course of training at the aviation radio school at Memphis, Tenn. Charles Griffith. 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Griffith, 1427 Monterey street, was enrolled recently in a month's radio refresher course at the pro-radio naval training school located at the United States Naval Armory in Michigan City, Ind. Major Carl Cramer, who is stationed in the Caribbean area, was recently promoted to the rank of major.

His wife, Mrs. Clarice Cramer, resides at 2633 Center street. Private Robert H. Wareham, husband of Mrs. Dorothy Wareham, Arvln, has been enrolled for a special course of instruction at the armored school at Fort Knox, Ky.
