Mrs. Beebe was born Betty Mae Roscoe on May 2, 1933, at Dorrance and was a resident of Salina since 1948. She was a homemaker and had worked for the Junction City Police Department.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church and attended First Foursquare Church, Salina. Her husband, George C. died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Huff of New Cambria; a brother, Jerry Roscoe of Gladstone, a half brother, Marion Roscoe of Pauls Valley, a half sister, Daisy Cooper of Roland Heights, and a grandchild. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m.

Saturday at First Foursquare Church, Salina, the Rev. Doug King officiating. Memorials may be made to the church. There will be no visitation. The body was Ryan Mortuary, 137 N.

Eighth, Salina 67401, is handling arrangements. Mildred J. "Mimi" Boydston CANTON Mildred J. "Mimi" Boydston, 95, Canton, died Thursday Jan. 4, 2001, at Shilo Manor, Canton.

Mrs. Boydston was born Mildred J. Vann on June 6,1905, at Marquette and was a resident of Canton since 1991, moving from McPherson. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, a member and twice past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, a Sunday school teacher and a volunteer for American Cancer Society She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Thomas; and a son, Thomas Wesley Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Sundahl of McPherson; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m.

Mr. Brink-man was born Jan. 17, 1916, at Higginsville, and was a resident of Salina for many years. He worked for KPL, Salina, and owned and operated Brinkman Insurance Agency Salina, for more than 50 years. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist MR.

Mrs. Curry was born Louise Elma Friesen on Aug. 27, 1897, at Hillsboro and was a resident of Salina most of her life, moving to Andover in 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish and Sacred Heart Ladies Guild. Her husband, Francis, died in 1984.

Donahoe, 83, Clyde, died Thursday Jan. 4, 2001, at Park Villa Care Home, Clyde. Mrs. Donahoe was born June M. Weber on Jan.

16, 1917, at Dorrance. She worked for Lynch Grain Salina, and was later a receptionist in the medical office of Dr. Warren S. Freeborn Clyde. She was a member of St.

John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, and many bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John E. Seaman, in 1943; her second husband, Joseph G. Donahoe, in 1995; and a daughter, Janis Seaman. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Racette of Mattoon, two sisters, Genevieve McCance of Chandler, and Bernice Pickerill of Clyde; two grandchildren; and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, the Rev LeRoy Metro officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. A parish rosary will be said at 4 p.m.

21,1938, at Gypsum and was a former Salina resident. She had worked at Tony's Pizza for more than 25 years and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Moose Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary all of Salina. Her husband. Dean, died in 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Keenan of Porterville, Calif, and Diane Wilson of Solomon; a son, Bryan Stark of Lincoln, her mother, Georgia Kolger of Salina; two brothers, Robert Jordan and Cliff Jordan, both of Great Bend; a sister, Lois Nichols of Salina; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Foltz was born Jan, 28, 1946, at Salina and was a resident of Hutchinson for 10 years. He was a counterman for Jarvis Supply Co. and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Survivors include his wife, Linda Ann of Hutchinson; a son, Thad R.

of Hoisington; a daughter. Amy D. Foltz of Hoisington; a brother, William of Manhattan; and a sister, Pat Foltz of Kansas City, Kan. The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Holy Name Cemetery Bushton.

Mr Heier was born June 25, 1931, at rural Gove County and was a lifetime resident of the area. He was a farmer-stockman and a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Grinnell, Immaculate Conception Church Council and Kansas Chapter of Polka Lovers Klub of America. He was also an Army veteran of the Korean War, a commander of George M.

Scott American Legion Post 301, Grainfield, a life member of Wheatland Veterans of eign Wars Post 2864, Grinnelfa Third Degree Knight of Columbus Park Council 2538 and a 32- year member of Grinnell Township Board. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan, in 1979; two infant daughters; and an infant grandson. Survivors include his wife, Berniece of Grinnell; four sons, David of Great Bend, Ronald and Melvin, both of Salina, and Larry of Park; two brothers, Bill of Monument and Frank of Grainfield; three sisters, Margaret Heier and Antonia Weber, both of Oakley and Magdalena Zerr of Grainfield; two half brothers, Felix of WaKeeney and Dominic of Oakley; a half sister, Martina Bockwinkel of Oakley; and 11 grandchildren. She was a school teacher and a life member of National Education Association. Her husband, Henry died in 1985. Survivors include two sons, Gerald of Albuquerque and Robert of Shawnee; a brother, Roger Jones of Cambridge; and five grandchildren. Survivors include her er, Lena Ledbetter of Belleville; and a sister, Annette Unden of Dalton, Ga.

Mrs. Marrs was born Jan. 29, 1913, at Comanche, Texas. She was a resident of Atwood since 1968 and a former resident of Texas, Arkansas, California and Oklahoma. She was a waitress and a cook.

She was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie D. Emery in 1970; and her companion, Vernon Berg, in 1994. There are no immediate survivors. The Service will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Atwood Fairview Cemetery Memorials may be made in her name.

2, 2001, at Ridgeview Healthcare, Belleville. Mrs. Nesmith was born Virginia C. Cory on May 15, 1915, at Wayne. She was a homemaker and a retired nurse.

She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Belleville and Beta Delphian Club. Her husband, Harold, died in 1982. Survivors Include a niece. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bachelor-Faulkner- Dart-Surber Chapel, Belleville, the Rev.

Adina Penner MOUNDRIDGE Adina Penner, 93, Moundridge, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. Mrs. Penner was born Adina Boese on Dec. 17, 1907, at rural Burrton and was a resident of Moundridge since 1990, moving from the Burrton and Halstead area.

She was nurse's aide at Bethel Clinic, Newton, and a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus in 1990; and an infant daughter. Survivors include three sons, Keith A. of Burrton, Paul M. of Assaria and Maurice D.

of Acampo, Calif; 10 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First Mennonite Church, Halstead, the Rev Cleo Koop officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Restlawn Gardens of Memory Newton.

Sunday at Kaufman Funeral Home, 418 Chestnut, Halstead 67056, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday Lorene Peterman SYLVAN GROVE Lorene Peterman, 72, Sylvan Grove, died Sunday Dec. 24, 2000, at Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth.

Mrs. Peterman was born Lorene Strecker on Nov. 30, 1928, at rural Russell County and was a resident of Sylvan Grove since 1947, moving from Lucas. She was a librarian at Sylvan Public Library, where she had served as a board member and president of the board. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary Sylvan Grove.

Her husband. L.W. "Pete," died in 1979. Survivors include a brother. Marvin Strecker of Russell; and four sisters, Elvera Prater of Hays and Lenora Strecker, Esther Stockamp and Thelma Blase, all of Sylvan Grove.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan Grove, the Rev. Timothy Wangerin officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery Sylvan Grove. Memorials may be made to The Lutheran Hour or the charity of the donor's choice.

4, 2001, at her home. Mrs. Rothenberger was born Deiana G. Pearce on May 11, 1919, at rural Prowers County Colo. She was a resident of Osborne since 1958 and a former resident of Hoisington and Great Bend.

She was a member of Downs Historical Society Be Better EHU and Sarah Steward Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also past president of Osborne Garden Club, a charter member and past president of Osborne County Genealogical and Historical Society and served as a project leader for Penn 4-H, Osborne, for 23 years. She was preceded in death by a son, Dana. Survivors include five sons, David of Wichita, Randy of Thornton, Kim of Minersville, Utah, Danny of Nixa, and Von of Osborne; two daughters. Sue Parker of Salina and Nina Stanton of Laporte, seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Sharp was born Edith Powell on Nov 25,1911. She was a resident of Georgia for nine years, moving from Atwood, and a former resident of She was a homemaker and a secretary for her husband for 30 years. She was a former member of Atwood United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star Radiant Chapter 229 and Atwood P.E.O. and a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Savannah and Methodist Church, Wilmington Island. She was preceded in death by her husband.

Dr. W.H., in 1986; and a son, William Lee, in 1934, Survivors include a son, Jimmie H. of Savannah; a sister, Marjorie Smith of Salina; four grandchildren; seven grandchildren; and a great- great-grandchild. The funeral with rites by Order of the Eastern Star Radiant Chapter 229, Atwood, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Atwood, the James Larson officiating.

28, 1899, at rural Jewell County Kan. She was an interior decorator, attended University Park Christian Church and St. Luke's Methodist Church and was a member of Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Indianapolis Symphony and Alpha Chi Omega mothers club and was a life member of RE.O. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn Bartlett of Indianapolis and Betty Miller of Chicago; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Planner Buchanan Broad Ripple ary Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chapter of P.E.O., Goodwill or Optimist Club or the donor may perform a day or evening of volunteer work. William "Willie" Weathers LINCOLNVILLE Wilham "Willie" Weathers, 56, Lihcol- nville, died Thursday Jan. 4, 2001, at rural Marion. Mr Weathers was born Nov. 23,1944, at Winfield. He worked in the oil industry and was a Marine Corps veteran and a Navy veteran.

He was a member of American Legion, Peabody Survivors include a brother. Bob of Tampa; and four sisters, LaVona Loveless and Helen Bernhardt, both of Marion, Sandra Knox of Wichita and Mary Pope of Aurora, Colo. Mrs. Wiedeman was born Lena Elmina Humphries-on June 28,1921, at Logan and was a resident of Sharon Springs since 1946, moving from WaKeeney She farmed and ranched with her husband and was a member of Sharon Lutheran Church. Nursing home changes proposed By The Associated Press TOPEKA A nursing home industry group is proposing stricter staffing standards and other improvements in a plan that would cost the million a yean The Kansas Health Care Association said Thursday it wants to increase the required hours of direct daily cafe for each nursing home patient to three from two.

The association also wants to require more staff training and to improve monitoring of care. At the same time, the association wants the state to increase reimbursements to nursing homes that care for poor Kansans under the Medicaid program. A commitment from the state to spend $31.8 million for the changes would bring $47.7 million in federal funds, according to the association.
