Obituary Rose Lipchkowski Rose Lipchkowski, 71, of 33 Minden Court, Nanticoke, died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital, Wilkes Barre: The former Rose Piontkowski, she was a life-long resident of Nanticoke and was employed at the Penn Footwear Company in Nanticoke. She retired in 1970. Her husband, Frank, died in 1960. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Nanticoke, and its Sacred Heart Society.

Surviving are sons, Anthony and Frank, both of Nanticoke; daughter, Mrs. Arlene Matthews, Nanticoke; nine grandchildren; a brother, Andrew, Nanticoke; sisters, Catherine, Nanticoke; Mrs. Victoria Hudack, Rapid City, S.D.; Mrs. Antonette Dombrowski, Forty Fort. Furneral on Wednesday at 8: 30 a.m.

Monday, August 6, 1929 Mrs. Stella Wysocki Mrs. Stella Wysocki, 401 Watt Duryea, died Sunday morning in Mercy Hospital, Scranton, where she had been a patient for the past two months. She was born in Duryea, a daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Monikoski Yablonski. She was educated in Duryea schools and was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Duryea.

Equatorial reportedly PARIS (AP) The nationsaid Sunday the military has overthrown President Francisco Macias Nguema, apparently ending one of Africa's bloodiest dictatorial regimes. A broadcast from the west African nation monitored in Paris said Macias- -Nguema was ousted Friday night in a bloodless coup and replaced by a military junta calling itself the Revolutionary Military Council.

The identities of the tiny country's new leaders were not known. An earlier radio broadcast and reports, circulating among the thousands of exiles from brutalized Equatorial Guinea said Macias Nguema was arrested Friday night in his home village, Momgomo, by the vice minister of defense, Col. Theodore Nguema Col. Menzogo is 33 and a graduate of the Spanish Army School in Zaragoza. Little el else is known about him.

A daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Brogna Lenza, she came to this country at a young age. She settled in Pittston and lived there all her life. She belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses in Pittston. Two husbands preceded her in death. Alfonso Florenza died 1916 and Juilio Menichelli died in 1959.

Selwyn C. Hitchings Selwyn Charles Hitchings, 60, of 210 Fraser Lane, Staunton, died July 26 in King's Daughters Hospital, Staunton. A son late Charles H. and Georgina Hitchings of Kingston and Luzerne, he was born in Wales and came to the United States with his parents in 1923. He resided Luzerne before moving to Staunton in 1946.

A 1938 graduate of Luzerne High School, he was a well-known athlete there. 'He was an Army veteran of World War II and of the Korean conflict. Before his retirement, he was a supervisor in Bengal Dupont Laboratories.
