It is the sequel to Operation Wetback, which the immigration service carried out in 1954 to sweep hundreds of thousands of illegal entrants back across the Mexican border. it is the big push by the U. Border Patrol to seal off the twisting coasts of south Florida against a new rash of alien-smuggling and individual slip-ins in this vulnerable area now that the Southwest border is classed as "secured."
