The Miami 2001 exhibition game will be played at Lambeau Field, not Camp Randall.

State Journal wires, staff The Green Bay Packers will riot play a preseason game at Camp Randall Stadium in 2001, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported in Saturday's editions. The Packers, who had been playing exhibitions in Madison in alternate years since 1997, instead will play three exhibition games at Lambeau Field in Green Bay next year. The decision was reportedly the result of a mutual agreement between Packers president Bob Harlan and University of Wisconsin athletic director Pat Richter. "Pat would like us to wait another year before coming back to Madison for reasons they have in Madison," Harlan said. "I don't know if they've got stadium plans or something that changes their situation.

I said, 'Fine, we would go along with UW officials hope to begin construction on a three-year, $99.7 million renovation of Camp Randall after the Badgers' final home game of 2001. The Packers had been scheduled to play the Miami Dolphins in Madison. That game has now been moved to Green Bay, according to Harlan. There was no immediate word on whether the Packers would return to Madison for future preseason games. The last two games at Camp Randall, in 1997 and '99, were both sellouts.

Tickets for the Miami game will be sold to the public and not included in the Packers' season ticket packages. It will give people a nice chance who have never been in (Lambeau)," Harlan said. Injury update The Carolina Panthers will be without starting running backTshimanga Biakabutuka when they play the Minnesota Vikings today. Biakabutuka, who did not practice all week because of a painful turf toe injury, didn't make the trip to Minneapolis because doctors want him to rest the injury, said team spokesman Charlie Dayton. Biakabutuka's injury means the Panthers' starting backfield will include running back Brad Hoover and fullback Chris Hetherington.

Hoover, an undrafted rookie from Western Carolina, has just 10 carries for 33 yards this season. Hetherington will make his second career start in place of William Floyd, who is out with broken ribs. Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis, his left leg ailing the past two weeks, is questionable for today's home game against San Diego. He had been listed as probable until the team announced the change Saturday. Davis thinks the soreness above his left ankle is related to the severely sprained left ankle and foot he sustained in the season opener.

Hi mom Sam Cowart's mother is appealing for Pro Bowl votes for her linebacker son on the Buffalo Bills' Web site mailing list. Harriet Cowart, who lives in Florida, wrote: "I am e-mailing you today to make you aware of some very serious voting irregularities currently taking place in the state of Florida and elsewhere: Of course I'm referring to the Pro Bowl balloting at the AFC's inside linebacker position. Despite playing in just six of his team's nine games and not putting up half the numbers that Sam is, Zach Thomas of the Dolphins is leading the fan voting." Thomas leads Baltimore's Ray Lewis, the Jets' Bryan Cox and Pittsburgh's Levon Kirk-land, with Cowart fifth. The inside linebacker competition is not as formidable in the NFC, but Bears rookie Brian Urlacher isn't on the fan ballot. St.

Louis' London Fletcher is first, followed by Atlanta's Jessie Tuggle (who is out for the season) and Minnesota's Kailee Wong. When players and coaches chime in with their votes on Dec. 11-12, Urlacher is expected to make a late push. Fans, coaches and players each count one-third of the weighted vote.
