Caven, who was on board accompanied by Mr3. Caven. was summoned to attend Mrs. S. E.

Hazzard, who had been taken very ill that evening at the junction town on her arrival from Tucson. After receiving treatment Mrs. Hazzard was able to continue her trip to BIsbee on Friday, arriving here on the -evening train. Mrs. 3. Brophy, accompanied by her children and their governess, was a passenger yesterday morning for the home of her parents, in Oakland, California, where she will viIt for the next few weeks. Later In the summer Mrs. Brophy will Join her husband In Lower California, and they will take a trip through Mexico.

At present Mr. Brophy Is giving all -of hia attention to his mining inter--ests In Lower California, Which are rather extensive, and reports from his properties are to the effect that developments have proved most favorable. Mr. and Mrs. Brophy and their children will return to the city In October.

It has been known for some time that active development -wcik on the group of claims Ruth ls Interested in has been contemplated, and win probably be commenced in the fall.

Is now well under way. The complete foundation has been finished, and the superstructure has been erected as far as the second story. During the past few days the work has been retarded owing to delay In the receipt of steel beams which will form a portion of the structure, but assurances have been received to the effect that this material will arrive early this week. The work of tearing out the building which has been occupied by the Palace saloon for several years past, will be commenced shortly to make room for the new three-story building which will also be occupied by the Fair Store people. When finished It is expected this establishment will be one of tho hand somest dry goods houses In the territory.

CJute. manager of the Bisbee Extension mine, accompanied by his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Clute will spend several weeks visiting various points of interest in Southern California.

When asked concerning conditions at the camp, Clute said that matters were progressing very nicely. He stated that the work of sinking the shaft was being prosecuted steadily. while the various buildings and ma chinery on the property wero being put In place. RETURN TO TOMBSTONE. Among the passengers on the train esterday morning for Tombstone were the members of the delegation of Elks from the county seat, who ry rived here to witness the graceful evolutions of Kme Candida')1! who wpre admitted for the first time to view the wonders of ElKiloni on FrMav evening.

And It Is further provided that the said Company shall complete a line of electric railway to tie corporate boundaries of the City of Bisbee up Tombstone Canyon within nine (9) months after the City shall provide a street at least forty (40) feet wide from a point near the eld flood gate In the City of Bisbee to the corporate limits up Tombstone Canyon, with no grade exceeding seven (7) per cent That when raid street Is completed to the western boundaries of the City of Bisbee with proper retaining walls and culverts sufficient to carry the electric' line and travel of the public, then the said warren Company shall pay to the City of BIsbee the sum ot nine thousand dollars Section 3. ORDINANCE NO. 109. An Ordinance Amending Subdivisions 35 and 35 of Ordinance No. 95 and of Section 15 thereof, Relating to a License Tax on Hacks and Stages. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Bisbee as follows, to-wit: Section 1.

That Subdivision 35 of Section 13 of Ordinance No. 95 be and the same is herebj amended to read as follows, to-wit: Every owner of any hack kept for public use or used as a public convey ance shall pay a monthly license or tax of Ten ($10,001 Dollars for every hack owned or so kept or used. Section 2. That Subdivision 38 or Section 15 of ordinance No. 95 be and tho same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: Every person, firm, association or corporation keeping or using any ve hicle other than hacks, whether con nected with livery stables or not, within the city of Bisbee, for the purposes of carrying persons from one place to another through or In afd City, mall coaches excepted, or from said city to place3 without the same.
