1 1 Werner Kochan Claimed By Death, Werner Kochan, 68. of 30 Harkins Lane, City, died this morning at 8 in Wyoming Valley Hospital where he had been a patient since December 27. A native ode Germany, Mr. Kochan came this country in 1923, He was employed by HessGoldsmith Company as A machinist and worked several years for Electric Company, Binghamtton, N. Y.

Recently, was employed at the Doctors' Hospital, New York City, as a machinist and retired in March, 1966. His first wife, Lydia, Redchwa wins September, 1946. Me. a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was president of the Fourteenth Ward Civic Club of WilkesSurviving are his wife, the former Gertrude Lanterman; three daughters, Mrs.

Ruth Roquemore, Madison, Eleanore of Harrisburg, and Mrs. Robert Bayer, Shavertown; two sons, Kurt Kochan of Buffalo, N. and Lee Lanterman, Pitman, N. eight grandchildren. Rites wid be held at the Snowdon Funeral Home, 64 North Franklin Street, Saturday mornat 11.

Rev. Calvin E. Humbert will officiate and interment will be in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday and Friday nights, 7 to 9.

Mrs. Thomas, 78, Of Plymouth, Dies Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Saunders Thomas, 78, of 160 Reynolds Street, terday in her Plymouth, home. occurred yes-! She was born in Wales and came to Plymouth 54 years ago. A son, Thomas L.

Thomas, was killed in action in Word War 2 in France in 1945. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth, and Class No. 1 of its Sunday school. Surviving are her husband, Isaac J.

Thomas; daughters, Mrs. Amelia E. Jones, at home; Mrs. Gwladys M. Hendershot, Maryland; sons, Elizabeth, N.

Oliver Maryland; Harry, Avenel, N. sisters, Mrs. Mary Ann Morgans, Mrs. Trissie Tyler and Mrs. Olive Taylor, all in Wales, and brothers, Edrice Saunders and Ronald Saunders, also.

in Wales. Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral will be held from the S. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main Street, Plymouth, Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. Richard Purnell officiating.

Admitted Friday as a medical patient, Stephen Novak, 692 North Washington Street, City, died yesterday afternoon in Wyoming Valley Hospital. He was born in Czechoslovakia and came to this country 60 years a ago, settling in WilkesBarre. Mr.

Novak was a member of Secred Heart Slovak Church, North Wilkes Barre, and the Holy Name Society of the church. He also belonged to Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 353, and Dorrance Local, United Mine Workers. Mr. Novak worked at Dorance Colliery, Lehigh Valley Coal Company, until retiring in 1953. His wife, the former Anna Palfy, died November 25, 1962.

A son, Aloysius, died in 1960, Surviving are sons, John Hudson, Plains Township; Stephen, Levittown, daughters, Mrs. Mary Mise wich, Plains Township; Mrs. Leona Buchola, Levittown; 11. grandchildren; brothers, George. Wilkes-Barre; Aloysius, in Czechoslovakia, Funeral will be held from the Morris Funeral Home, 625 North Main Street Saturday morning at 8:30, with a Requiem Mass at.

since December 26, Lester Hartman of 307 Kidder Street, City, died last night in Mercy Hospital. His wife is the former Anna Endler. Mr. Hartman was born in Nanticoke and resided in WilkesBarre most of his life. He was a veteran of World War 2 and was A member of Holy Saviour Church and its Holy Name Society.

Mr. Hartman was last employed at Silver Top Diner. Surviving besides his wife are a son, Lester, Palmyra; sister, Mrs. Arline Wood, Bloomingdale, N. brother, Delbert, El Paso, three grandchildren.

DOROTHY ZIMMER Death of Mrs. Dorothy Zimmer, a Kingston native, occurred Saturday in Clarks DO Summit State Hospital. A former Montrose resident, she had been a patient 20 years. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Cordelia James.

Benci's classes received Freedoms Foundation awards five consecutive years, and he received personal citations from Freedoms Foundation two consecutive years. Mr. Benci attended St. Thomas College, now Scranton University, was graduated from Pennsylvania State University, and received his degree from New York University. He is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Troiani; a daughter.
