This v'sit was at the time'lhat Mrs. Sauvage alleges she was sent away from her home In brutal manner by her husband, burins her Illness she expressed great thankfulness to Mrs. Houston for attention Vfstowed, and out of gratitude offered to take her in partnership In a laundry venture that would make her a great deal of money. After much persuasion. Mrs.

Houston parted with which Mrs. Sauvage departed with. The balance of Mrs. Houston's story Is best lold in her statoment, which is as follows. "Through her long illness I showed the greatest sympathy and kindness to her and her baby.

Mrs. Sauvage repaid the kindness I had shown her by persuading me to mortgage my home for $1,000 to so into the laundry business, stating that she had $2,500 of her own to invest, and that we wou'd be equal partners. Mrs. Sauvage went before a notary public and swore that she had the $2,500 to Invest, and it was only after much persuasion on her part that I consented to borrow the $1,000. Mrs.

Sauvago returned to msbee and wrote later to me that she had been to several different places, but found BIsbee the best location. "After hearing of the murder of Mr Sauvage I came to Bisbee at once to look after my Interests, only to find) that Mrs. Sauvage had everything in! her own name, and that slie had never had the $2500 which she swore to having at Tucson." Mrs. Houston has the appearance of a woman who has worked hard or whatever she has gained in the world, I and who at th. years she has reach-! ed could ill afford to lose from sav- nimimnlniAj ,1 i.

M. Shields Home Rev. H. M. Shields, accompanied by Mr3.

Shields and children, returned to the city last evening from the mountains of New Mexico, where he went more than a month ago to recuperate from his illness with typhoid. Contrary to expectations the climate did not agree with" him, and it was finally deemed necessary, following partial recovery from a relapse he sustained, for him to return to Bisbee. It is the belief that he wlil steadily improve here and soon have his usual health back. LOWELL HEARD FROM.
