Cedarville voters to decide on gymnasium construction THE EVENING NEWS, SAULT STE- MARIE. FRIDAY. NOV. CEDARVILLE Even though the construction of a gymnasium for the Che- neaux Community School can legally be started without public approval, residents will vote on the proposed project on Nov. 6th.

Jim Droskie school board president, has given assurance that the public will decide the fate of this project during this referendum because "their tax money would finance the project." Ranta appointed county equalization director The Equalization and Apportionment Committee of the County Board of Commissioners announced today the appointment of William T. Ranta as Director of the Chippewa County Equalization Department, succeeding Richard 0. Gustafson who retired. Ranta is a native of Sault Ste. Marie, graduated from Sault Area High School and attended Lake Superior State College.

Ranta has been a Chippewa County employe for the past 16 years having been employed by the road commission for 11 and one-half years and the past four and one-half years as assistant director of the Equalization department. Ranta holds a State Assessors Board Certification at Level III in assessment administration and has attended numerous training programs throughout the state. Conferences begin at Soo Junior high school Sault Area Junior parent- teacher conferences are scheduled as follows: Monday evening, from p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from To help distribute the load over the afternoon sessions parents with last names beginning with through may come on Tuesday, from I throug 0 on Wednesday and from through on Thursday afternoon. Lyskoski were held at 9 a.m. today at the Bailey-Newhouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terrence Healy officiating. Burial was in Donaldson cemetery. Mr.

Lyskoski, a resident of Provincial House, died at War Memorial Hospital on Wednesday. He was born March 25, 1891 in Poland. There are no known survivors. Revival crusade PICKFORD A revival crusade will be held at the Pickford United Methodist Church Nov. 4 through Nov.

11. The crusade evangelist will be Jimmie Rose and Charles Jones is the song evangelist. The crusade will start with the 10 a.m. morning service on Sunday, Nov. 4 and continue each evening at 7:30 through Nov.

11. The evangelists will also be present at the morning service on Nov. 11. Jones is a 1973 graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary. Rose is a graduate of Morehead State University and for many years was one ofKentucky's most successful young basketball coaches before entering the ministry in 1950.

He has had experience as pastor in both the.Kentucky and Florida Conferences of the Methodist Church and for the past six years has had evangelist crusade in many of the churcnes ot Metnodism. Belperio Vincent J. (Jim) Belperio. 61, died at 5:40 a.m. today at War Memorial Hospital. He was born April 20.1912 in Chicago, 111.

and lived in the Sault for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society and was employed as a custodian at the Pullar Community Building. Surviving are his wife Albina Belair, one son Carmine James Belperio of Hollywood, two daughters, Mrs. Don (Diane) Peters of Hawaii and Mrs. Edward (Lois) Kelly of West Branch and seven grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother Fred Belperio of Tucson, Ariz, five sisters, Mrs. Lucille Vorase, Mrs. Mary Buono and Mrs. Wilfred (Angeline) Willette, ail of Florida, Mrs. Jean White of Warren and Phyllis Madol of Bay City.
