The Kvening Today Women "7-r l77n' 1 iV'H I NOV. 19, 1969 Mrs. Ridings Resigns Post With Chippewa Camp Fire MRS. RIDINGS Christine Ridings, administrative secretary of the Chippewa County Camp Fire Girls since September of 1956, has announced her resignation effective Dec. 1.

Mrs. Ridings began her association with Camp Fire here as a volunteer leader in 1952. In 1953 she organized the Blue Bird Day Camp and in subsequent served as president of the Leaders Association and as a member of the Camp Fire board.of directors. In addition to her work as administrative secretary, she has been administrator and director of Camp Wikweia. Among her numerous community activities have been memberships on the Mayor's Committee for Youth and on-the Michigan Week Youth Day committee.

Broiled Chicken Rice Green Peas Salad Elaine Light's Orange Rum Cake ELAINE LIGHT'S ORANGE RUM CAKE 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 3 egg yolks 1 cup dairy sour cream Grated rind of 1 orange 2 cups sifted cake flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 3 egg whites Oranga Rum syrup Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Beat in egg yolks, sour cream and rind. Sift dry ingredients and add. Beat egg whites until stiff and carefully fold in. Bake in an oiled and floured 9-inch tube pan.

Bake at 325 degrees one hour or until cake tester comes out clean. Let stay in pan about 10 minutes. Turn out on plate with rum. Pour hot Orange Rum Syrup slowly over top of cake. ORANGE RUM SYRUP In a saucepan combine juice of 2 oranges, juice of 1 lemon, 34 cup sugar, cup light rum and dash of salt; boil' gently 3 to 4 minutes.

BIRTHS WAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL HOPE Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hope (Catherine Hansen), 1220 Bingham are the parents of a son, Christopher Alan, born Nov. 18 at 12:43 p.m. He weighed eight pounds, 15 ounces.

FALKENHAGEN Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Falkenhagen (Gayle Thompson) of Brimley are the parents of a son, James Arthur, born Nov. 19 at 3:31 a.m. He weighed nine pounds.

Two Sault High Students To Tour Europe In 1970 With International Choir Two Sault High School students, Jeanne Lyons and Bill Edward, will be touring Europe next summer with the International Choir of the Blu Lake Fine Arts Camp which is affiliated with the Michigan State University Youth Music program. Both are juniors and are members of the Sault High Choir directed by Mrs.

William Arsenault who was instrumental in having them audtion for the choir and compete for scholarships which will help pay the $750 individual cost of the tour. Mr. and Mrs. Arsenault took Bill, Jeanne and Karen Close to Blue Lake Camp at Twin Lake for the auditions. Jeanne, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Stanley Lyons of Riverside Drive, won a $250 scholarship to be applied to her tour costs and Bill, fson of Mrs. Beverly Edward of 727 E. Easterday and the late William F. Edward, was awarded a $100 scholarship.

The choir will leave Metropolitan Airport at Detroit on June 28 and will return Aug. 7 after touring seven European countries. Beginning this week, the choir will rehearse two or three times each month until the departurt date. The B1 Lake Fine Arts Camp is a summer school of the arts. In addition to its affiliation with the Michigan State University Youth Music program, the carnji is a member of the People to People program and other international cultural organizations.
