45 i i Nothing was getting to the front pair as Maggie Day out- T' stretched Joanne W. 8th Race: Once again we had a NYRA special: a four-horse feature. It wasn't the weather but the size of the field that left racing fans cold. It turned into a two-horse race. S.S.

Spaikle and She Said Maybe exchanged the lead twice as they bobbed down the stretch to the wire with S.S. getting the last bob for a OTB Tony looks to wheel in dough Today's Runners: Two OTB Tony plays. In the 5th No Stalling over Pure Texan and Razbidaz. Pure Texan, a $2 exacta part wheel, boxed $8. This is the perfect spot for the Monmouth shipper to score at a price.

The 10th: $2 exacta part wheel Dispute and Lunar Spook over Sky Beauty, eauty is a genuine horse and legitimate favorite cold non-existent exacta. 9th Race: This was about as bad a bunch as steps on the track in these parts. They made first-time starter Parmelina the 2-1 chalk and those that had run before didn't disappoint as the chalk won going away over the other first timer Star n' Adame. Can't wait to go to Meadowlands and bet on competitive fields from Gulfstream. Yesterday's Picks: Onyxly's Empire (3rd) $5.20, more important over our other two led a $26.40 exacta for $4.

Fly High Lady (7th) fourth at 17-1, making it a decent value bet though a loser. Meet Record: 3-6 $1.20) wire and the only other, Paupers Hope, was so bad he couldn't beat him to home. 2d Race: The 7-5 chalk took them most of the way joined by Getting Aroundtoit midstretch. Then came our Tenorette flying on the outside to give us a $17.80 winner but without a double or exacta no way to cash. 3d Race: Onyxly's Empire was only 8-5 when he passed King's Revenge, who was in a tussle with Loadinfo.

Revenge held on for place as our other, Big Carouser, closed for third. This time the winner only paid $5.20 but it meant more to us since we collected on the $26.40 exacta. 4th Race: Both halves of our entry were in the hunt. Degrise went at leader Barry's Man as they came out of the turn. Then his stablemate Double Calvados shot through the middle to take the lead.

Coming on the rail was My Mogul who just missed at the wire. Degrise hung on for show over our other, People's Deputy. 5th Race: As they came out of the turn it was between Personal Draw and Ail Canadian, who was so full of run Santagata ignored Draw to his inside to look over his shoulder to see if there was any danger from the rear. There was none; he just booted on while Draw hit the rail trying to keep up. He recovered enough to be second and give us a $20.40 exacta saver.

6th Race: Quality Of Life took the lead and drifted of the rail going into the turn leaving enough room for ours, Icey Slew, to switch paths. Slew took the rail, the lead and the race as he had the stretch to himself. Chasing in for place were our other two with Jacqaurd who went wide on the first turn finishing much stronger than the chalk Aldeninrest to give us a $78 return on our exacta box. 7th Race: Opening at 12-1 our longshot runner Fly High Lady was much less than we were looking for but the track money started to take care of that by the off at 17-1. She ran a brave fourth after being taken as wide as it was possible by Sindab.

but if she is going to get beat this is the spot in her first race back. Either of the two are fast enough and, with a conditioning edge, it is the play. Yesterday's Card: There was an early announcement that today's Radio: Programing a tale of two cities racing at the Big A is canceled and there will bo no simulcasting at the track. Today's card will become Monday's entries, so if you were one of those who bought a Saturday Racing Form it can be used for Monday. OTB will be taking racing from Gulfstream.

So will Meadowlands, without the surcharge. 1st Race: Filch found himself in new territory out on the lead ahead of four and held it over the only other who looked like he had come to try Billy. Our 9-5 Cinq A Sept stayed so far in the rear before making a move we have to wonder if James Bruin got a race fee or exercise fee. Dr. Bartolo was eased before the By JEFF WEINGRAD LlMl OOP THE ASSOCIATED PRESS less drought at Boston Garden with a victory over the Celtics.

Hawks 110, Magic 92 ATLANTA Dominique Wilkins scored 35 points and Kevin Willis 26 as Atlanta matched its longest winning streak of the season at four with a victory over Orlando. Suns 116, Mavericks 98 PHOENIX Cedric Ceballos continued his scoring binge with 24 points, leading Phoenix to a victory over Dallas, keeping the Mavericks winless on the road. Lakers 101, 76ers 95 PHILADELPHIA Vlade Divac scored 20 points, including a key three-pointer late in the game, as Los Angeles defeated Philadelphia. James Worthy added 15 points for the Lakers, who have won six of their last eight games at the Spectrum. The Lakers" improved their road record to 16-15.

Bucks 115, Celtics 109 BOSTON Blue Edwards and Eric Murdock each scored 23 points as Milwaukee snapped a 14-game win- CHICAGO Michael Jordan scored 52 points, his 32d game with 50 or more, leading the Chicago Bulls to a 123-108 victory over the Charlotte Hornets last night. Jordan, playing his third game after missing two with a foot infection, had 22 points in the third quarter. He put the Bulls in control of a game that was close until the final two minutes of the period, when he scored 11 points to put Chicago ahead, 93-87. Alonzo Mourning scored 25 points for the Hornets. Daily News Television Editor AS FANS of the Howard Stern morning schwing-ding know well, WYSP-FM in Philadelphia is the sister station to WXRK-FM here in the city.

Both are owned by Infinity Broadcasting, and both follow the same formats: Stern in the morning, classic rock the rest of the day, and, for the last month, the Greaseman, at night. Now, both stations have the same program director, too. Tim Sabean, as of last Tuesday, is now p.d. for YSP and XRK, Filling the void left here by the recent move by Mark Chernoff to all-sports WFAN (also owned by Infinity). Sabean has been at YSP for two years, during which time the station, led by Stern, has become top-rated in Philadelphia.

Last week, Chernoff, a major factor in It-Rock's success in ratings and profits, said he doesn't envision any kind of shakeup at his new residence. Sabean, who programed stations in Chicago and Los Angeles before arriving in Philly, expressed similar sentiments yesterday. "I don't anticipate any big changes," he told The News. "I'll just continue to fuel the growth of K-Rock." As for Stern, he praised him as "the most singular, most incredible morning-show talent in the country; in fact, not just the country, the universe." As for how he'll manage Stern, he responded, "Nobody manages Howard Stern. You just hang on and go along for the ride." Asked about the Greaseman, who hasn't yet lit up the town, Sabean expressed confidence that listeners will warm to the former Washington hotshot.
