Fessler, Walter E. MADISON Walter E. Fessler, age 55, died Sunday, February 7, 1999 at his home. He was born October 31, 1943 the son of Earl and lone (Montgomery) Fessler. Walter graduated from Madison East High School.

He was employed at the WMFM radio station. Walter was an avid collector of automobiles and loved drag racing. He is survived by his son, Jack Fessler of Madison; a daughter, Carmen Fessler of Plantation, Florida; and his mother, lone. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl. BELLEVILLE Edna M. Gillette, age 84, of Belleville died on Tuesday morning, February 9, 1999, at Mer-iter Hospital in Madison. Edna was born on April 13, 1914 in Stough-ton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Clarence and Clara (Ladd) Gander. She married Irv Gillette of Belleville August 23, 1951. The couple lived in Monona for 25 years before moving to Irv's boyhood home in Belleville.

Over the years Edna has enjoyed her talents of drawing, painting, rosemaling, sewing and crafts. She especially enjoyed flea marketing at the Jefferson Speedway during the summer months. Edna is survived by her husband, Irv Gillette of Belleville; her children, Karen Olson (Lloyd Kluber-tanz) of Deerfield, Wisconsin and Alan (Lorie) Gillette of Salt Lake City, Utah; four granddaughters, Sheri Goodine, Lani Thomas, Kristin Gillette and Karli Gillette; two great-granddaughters, Taylor Goodine and Lauren Thomas; a sister, Clarice "Sis" Willoughby of Belleville. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Wilmer "Bud" Gander. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12, 1999 at 1:30 p.m.

Gruhn, age 78 of Fox Lake, Wisconsin, died on Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Loraine was born on December 28, 1920, the daughter of Herbert Lidtke and Mabel I. (Haase) Lidtke. She married Fred A. Gruhn on August 9, 1958 in Fox Lake.

Loraine graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1938, and from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1942. Some wildlife conservation groups object to the decision, predicting a return of the poaching that prompted the restrictions. Ostrem, Roger MADISON Roger Ostrem was Pm born July 13, 1908 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He lived in Madison from 1911 until his death on Tuesday, February 9, 1999. Roger graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Engineering in 1931. He served his country during World War II as the safety engineer for construction of the third lock at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and later in the Naval Bureau of Ordinance in Washington, D.C.. Roger was employed by the State of Wisconsin and served as the Director of Safety and Building in the Department of Labor.

He is survived by his daughter, Jane (Ostrem) Nordness and son-in-law Craig Nordness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Led-ford); his parents, Peder Valdemar Ostrem and Selma Christina (Nes-vig) Ostrem; and his sister, Esther (Ostrem) Knabe. Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave. at 11:00 a.m. on February 13, 1999.

MIDDLETON Thomas F. Spease, age 52, died unexpec tedly on Saturday, rebruary 6, 1999. He was born on August 20, 1946 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the son of the late Frank and Bessie Spease. Tom was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the Unite States Army and had been awarded several medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal I I Krejchik, Charity Rose Krejchik, Anthony Joseph TOWNSHIP OF CALEDONIA -Charity Rose Krejchik, age 20, and Anthony Joseph Krejchik, age 11 of the Township of Caledonia, died on Tuesday, February 9, 199 as the result of an auto accident. "Rock" ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA Richard E. "Rock" Meyer, age 72 passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 1999 in St. Petersburg, Honda, He was born on October 19, 1926 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to the late Harvey and Eunice (Davies) Meyer. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and enlisted in the Army in 1944.

He served in the Army until 1946. Mr. Meyer graduated from Oshkosh State Teachers College in 1951 and taught at Tomahawk Wisconsin Hieh School for four vears. In 1953, he married Marie Zirbel in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "Rock" began a career in sales with Wisconsin Physicians Service in 1957 and retired in 1994 after 37 years of service.

He was a most avid fan and ardent supporter of the children's varied activities and delighted in his grandchildren. In his younger years, he was an accomplished boxer and football player. He also participated successfully in Golden Glove's competition on the 1940's. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and golf. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; a brother, Harvey; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth "Chirky" Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife, Marie of St. Petersburg, Florida; three sons, Tim of Stevensville, Maryland, Tom (Erin) of Strongsville, Ohio and Todd (Susan) of Parkville, Maryland; a daughter, Jane (A.J.) Huff of Three Rivers, Michigan; three grandchildren, Tommy, Riley and Devin; two brothers, Douglas (Jean) Meyer of Oshkosh and Thomas (Molly) Meyer of Green Bay; a sister, Joyce Lloyd of Oshkosh; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 1999 at PEACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH in Sun Prairie. Friends are invited to the church from 9:00 a.m.

Ostrander, David Louis fe, HICKORY HILLS, ILLINOIS MADISON David L. Ostrander, age 73, died on February 8, 1999. David was born on August 19, 1925, in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Lawson and Vera (Thompson) Ostrander. He graduated from Madison East High School class of 1942. He attended ASTP College in Houghton, Michigan.

He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II and had taken part in the Battle of the Bulge. After World War II, David returned to Madison when he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1952. He was employed with the Continental Can Company for over 30 years in its Research Technical Center. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all sports; and was a very avid reader. He is survived by a brother, Donald Ostrander of Madison; 12 nieces a POYNETTE Irvin K.

Hermanson, age 81, died on Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at Columbus Community Hospital. He was born on January 15, 1918 the son of Henry and Pearl (Lunde) Hermanson, and he was a longtime Town of Leeds farmer and cabinet maker. He is survived by his wife, Leola Hermanson; a son, Norm Hermanson; a daughter, Marge Hermanson; and three grandchildren, Sonja (Hans) Hanson, and Timothy and Michael Hermanson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Harold and John Herman-son. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.

Johnson, age 89, of Dodgeville and formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Memorial Hospital of Iowa County, following a brief illness. She was born on March 20, 1909 in Belmont, the daughter of August and Emma (Os-terndorf) Jantzen.

She was baptized and a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Elmer R. Johnson on June 15, 1932. They farmed in the Mifflin community before retiring to Mineral Point in 1961. She was an active 4-H leader in sewing.

She belonged to the Mifflin Homemakers Club, and she was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church. After retiring to Mineral Point, she worked at Paynter and Tonkin IGA for several years. Before her death she was a resident of Morley Manor in Dodgeville for five years. She is survived by three children, Beverly (Richard) White of Mineral Point, Marlene (Norman) Kirley of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Je-rald (Sharon) Johnson of Mineral Point; eight grandchildren, Bryan Johnson, Brad (Amy) Johnson, Bruce (Colleen) Johnson, Deanna (Dustin) Johnson Simm, Brent (Bobbie) Johnson, Robin (Jay) White Stauffacher, Robert (Jill) White, Rodney (DoRinda) White, 14 greatgrandchildren; a brother, Edward Jantzen of Lancaster; two sisters-in-law; her nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in June, 1985; a son, Harold who died in infancty; three sisters, Kathryn, Elsie, and.

fe, DOYLESTOWN Erwin T. PS Kehoe, age 73, of Dovlestown, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Columbus Community Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1925 in Doylestown, Wisconsin, the son of John and Irene (McMahon) Kehoe. He married the former Geraldine Seier on September 22, 1947 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Doylestown.

He was a lifelong resident of Doylestown. He worked for many years as a mason for Robert J. Slattery. He also worked for many years at the Mosinee Paper Co. in Columbus.

He served his country in World War II, serving in the Marines. He was a member of the Randolph American Legion. He was also a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Doylestown. He is survived by two sons, William (Faye) Kehoe of Columbus, and Robert Kehoe of Doylestown; three daughters, Linda (Jim) Wall of Doylestown, Patty (Joe) Desjarlais of Doylestown, and Jean (Norman) Vick'of Mercer; a brother, Thomas (Marge) Kehoe of Waukesha; three sisters, Mary Alice (Stanley) Stofflet of Dovlestown, Betty (Vern) Freck of Rio, and Nancy (Donald) Dettmerine of Merrill; a brother-in-law, Gordon (Lorraine) Seier of Wyocena; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife, Geraldine "Gerry" who died on February 23, 1998; a son, Thomas Kehoe; and a brother-in-law, Russell Roberts. Acker, age 98, died on Wednesday, February 10, 1999 at the Waunakee Manor. Funeral arrangements are pending at the GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Avenue, Middleton. Clinard, Ruth Blackburn MADISONSANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA Ruth Blackburn Clinard, age 86, died on Tuesday, January 19, 1999 at her home in Santa Barbara, California. She had lived in Madison from 1946-1979. Ruth was born in Caldwell, Kansas on October 13, 1912 to Leslie Clark Blackburn and Clara Taylor Blackburn.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall Barron Clinard, who she married on January 21, 1936. Ruth grew up in Olney, Illinois and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. She worked as a medical social worker at Cook County Hospital, Chicago and the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. She was also involved in volunteer work, including the American Red Cross, the League of Women Voters, and the Santa Barbara Medical Clinic Auxiliary where she served as President from 1992-93. Ruth resided from 1946-1979 in Madison, where her husband was on the Sociology faculty at the University of Wisconsin.

They retired to Santa Fe, New Mexico (1979-1990) before moving to Santa Barbara. An international traveler, Ruth had an intense love of mountains. She and her husband spent much time in the Grand Te-tons and Swiss Alps, and trekked in Nepal on many occasions. She also had a special love of all things French and spent time traveling in French-speaking countries. Her special love was French West Africa.

She read French literature and continued, until she died, to study French and to belong to French conversation groups. She collabo rated with her husband and typed and edited his numerous publications. As a result of her husband's work, they lived several years abroad in India, Sweden, Switzerland, and Uganda. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Marsha Clinard (Charles Boast) of Champaign, Illinois; a son, Stephen (Paula) Clinard of Boxford, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Eric Schacht of Urbana, Illinois, Marshall Schacht of Champaign, Illinois, and Amy and Andrew Clinard of Boxford, Massachusetts; a great-granddaughter, Madison Schacht of Champaign, Illinois; and numerous nieces ana nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Watt; a brother, Robert Blackburn; and by a son, Lawrence Marshall.

Everson, age 85, of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 1999 at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe.

He was born in Argyle on February 25, 1913, the son of J. Selmer and H. Elina (Hendrickson) Everson. Harlow attended Andrew Country School in Lamont from 1921-1927. Harlow was united in marriage to Ruth M.

Helman on June 18, 1942, at the East Wiota Lutheran Church. They farmed in the Argyle and Blanchardville areas until their retirement in 1970. Harlow was a member of the Wiota Lutheran Church. After Harlow lost his vision in 1965, he attended the Wisconsin School for the Visually Handicapped in Janesville for 18 years. He mastered the art of basket weaving and was well known in the area for the many baskets and crafts he made.

He is survived by a sister, Cecelia Jorgenson of Wiota; two sisters-in-law, Winogene Everson and Joan Everson, both of Monroe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth on April 25, 1988; three brothers, Lawrence, Burdean and Robert Everson; and two sisters, Ruth Goebli and Joanne Metcalf. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 1999 at the EAST WIOTA LUTHERAN teacher in South Milwaukee Public Schools, Columbus Elementary School, where she also served as a principal, and at the Beaver Dam Public School System. She served on the Waupun school board from 1972 until 1982.

She was a member of the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fox Lake, Happy Hour Homemakers, and the Scat Cats of Marine Air Group. She is survived by her husband, Fred A. Gruhn of Fox Lake; a daughter, Amy (Tony) Beneventi of Fox Lake; three granddaughters, Abbey and Elizabeth Schaller, and Tracy Beneventi; a brother, Herb (Evaline) Lidtke of Beaver Dam; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at ST.
