PRAIRIE DU SAC Herbert V. Ruhland, age 89, died on Saturday, April 9, 1994 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Lodi. He was born on March 15, 1905, near Plain, Wisconsin, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Hutter) Ruhland. He was united in marriage to Lilah Briscoe who preceded him in death in 1968. He married Eva Schilling on October 3, 1990.

Mr. Ruhland was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light Company at the Prairie du Sac Dam for over 30 years, retiring in 1965, and also farmed in Prairie du Sac Township. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of SL Aloysius Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Eva Schilling of rural Prairie du Sac; a son. Dale (Lorraine) Ruhland of Elcho, Wisconsin; three stepsons, Bill (Suel Schilling of Middleton, Tom Schilling of Lodi, and Bob (Connie) Schilling of Milwaukee; three stepdaughters, Mary (Jim) Heimbecker of Lodi, Cindy (Kim) Schmidtke of Portage, and Shelly (Dan) Rathman of fronton; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sauk City, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 1994, with Father William Seipp and Father Frank Brickl officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m.

on Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Gnewikow-Hooverson Funeral Home Sauk City, Wisconsin Stauffacher, Arthur H. MONROE Arthur H. Stauffacher, age 82, died on Saturday, April 9, 1994, at his home.

He was bom March 10, 1912 in Jordan Township, Green County, the son of Henry S. and Louise (Spiech) Stauffacher. He was a graduate of Monroe High School in 1930. He married Ruth Selck on September 22, 1935 in Monroe, and they farmed in Monroe Township. He was a member of St.

John's United Church of Christ, the Green County Farm Bureau, and a member and past president of the Holstein Breeders Association. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Monroe; two sons, Roger (Mary Ann) Stauffacher of Monroe, and Ralph (Linda) Stauffacher of Sun Prairie; two brothers, Victor L. Stauffacher of Monroe, and Herbert H. Stauffacher of Monroe; and four grandchildren, Mrs. Andrea (Daniel) Kayser of Woodstock, Illinois, Jeff (Christine) Stauffacher of Monroe, Kristen Stauffacher of Merrill, Wisconsin, and Kurt Stauffacher of Bloomington, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Louise Stauffacher, and two brothers, Theodore and Ralph A. Stauffacher. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 13, 1994, at 1:00 p.m. in the SHRINER-NEUSHWANDER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, with Reverend William T. "Mike" Heath of St.

Lawrence, age 87, longtime Stoughton resident, died Sunday, April 10, 1994. Lloyd was born October 17, 1906 in the town of Christiana, the son of the late John and Hannah (Gjerager) Lawrence. He married the former Hazel Eide of Utica on February 23, 1931. They farmed for many years in the town of Dunkirk, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

Lloyd was a member for many years of the Pleasant Hill Home Talent Baseball Team. The team won the area championship in 1942. Lloyd also enjoyed his many days of fishing. He is survived by his wife. Hazel; and further survived by nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom, and a sister, Myrtle. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 1994, at 1:30 p.m., in the FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH. Reverend James Schwarz will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m.

Gausmann, age 95, died on Sunday, April 10, 1994 at her residence in McFarland.

She was born on June 11, 1898 in Okee, Wisconsin to James and Eliza (Reed) Buchanan. Mabel married Theodore Gausmann on March 26, 1919 near Lodi. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was active in many church functions. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter.

Norma Thrun of Mcfarland; a son, Philip (Betty) Gausmann of Cottage Grove; three daughters-in-law, Joyce Gausmann of Wausau, Dorothy (Olaf) Swenson of Madison, and Joyce Gausmann of Madison; 24 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 27, 1950; her parents; three sons, Kenneth, Earl and Rollin; a son-in-law, Alvin Thrun; a grandson, Daniel; five sisters; six brothers; and a grandson-in-law, Jerry Niesen. Funeral services will be held at HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3702 County Trunk AB, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 1994, with Reverend Donald Wandersee officiating. She had previously worked at University of Wisconsin Hospital and as a travel agent in California, Madison and Colorado. Barbara was very active in her church, helping instigate new programs and working with the vouth as well as elderly. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Linda (Dennis) Brager; brothers David, Jim (Janet), and Karl; maternal grandmother, Ethel Shelhamer; and nephews, Michael, Matthew, Brian, Peter and Bill. We will miss her upbeat attitude, her creativity, and her ever present sense of humor. Her family wishes to thank all who kept her in their thoughts and prayers over the years, to the staff at U.W.

Hospital, and to Hospice for their care and support. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, U.W. Cancer Center, or Hospice. There will be a Remembrance Service on Wednesday, April 13, 1994 at 6:00 p.m. at TRINITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1123 Vilas Avenue.

This will be followed by a light supper. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to attend. Blakely, Clair M. LAKE MILLS Clair M. Blakely, age 77, of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, died on Friday, April 8, 1994, in the Fort Atkinson Health Care Center.

He was born on May 21, 1916, in Viola, Wisconsin, the son of George and Josephine (Gillinghamj Blakely. He married Maroa Keith of Lake Preston, South Dakota on December 31, 1940 at Lake Preston. He was a graduate of the Viola High School and later graduated from Platteville Teacher College. He served in the United States Air Corp from 1937 until 1940 and was executive vice-president on the council of agriculture from 1953 until 1955 in Madison. He lived in Sparta, Wisconsin from 1955 until 1965.

While in Sparta, he was manager of the Lakeland Egg Cooperative, served on the City Council, and was honorary mayor. After leaving Sparta, he lived in East Africa for ten vears, serving the governments of Kenya and Uganda in International Development in Agriculture. He moved to Lake Mills in 1977 and was the vocational agriculture teacher at the high school until retirement. He was a member of the U.C.C. Congregation Church, a 50 year member of the Lake Mills Lodge 46, an avid sportsman, golfer, and member of the Tyranena Men's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Maroa; a son, Gary Blakely of Edgerton, Wisconsin; a daughter, Mary Ann (David) Schoonover of Hayti, South Dakota; and a grandson, Jeffrey. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 1994, at 10:30 a.m. in the U.C.C. CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, with the Reverend Richard E. Frasier officiating.

Interment will be on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Viola City Cemetery, Viola, Wisconsin. Friends may call on Monday, April 11, 1994, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the CLAUSSEN BOUSLOUGH FUNERAL HOME where a Masonic Service will be held at 8:00 p.m.

Craker, Viola L. REEDSBURG Viola Craker. age 83, died Saturday evening, April 9, 1994, at the Edward Synder Nursing Home. Survivors include her husband, Vinton; three children; Evaline (William) Klitzke of Reedsburg, Marian (LaVera) Craker of Reedsburg, and Delores (Rupert) Klitzke of Janesville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Beckwitn of Bara-boo; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.

De Filippo, age 88, of rural Richland Center, near Bloom City, Wisconsin, died on Thursday, April 7, 1994, at her residence. She was born on January 17, 1906, in Warwick County, England, the daughter of George F.

Bill and Emma. She married John Mersereau. Alice immigrated to the United States in 1919. She was married March 27, 1936, to Louis James De Filippo and he preceded her in death in 1981. Alice was a nurse in Brookfield, Illinois and owned and operated the Sundust Cattery in Brookfield, Illinois, and later in Wisconsin.

In her business of caring for cats she did extensive research and genetic development with cats of all breeds. Survivors include four sons, Mark Mersereau of Connecticut. Basil Mersereau of Vermont, Johnathan (Lois) Mersereau of Illinois, Louis Matt (Carol) De Filippo of Richland Center, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren, Keith, Laura, Jeffrey, Patricia, Beth, Allissa, Daniel; two great-granddaughters, Jessica and Melissa; close friend and companion, Judy Jenson: two sisters-in-law, Aurora Stoll and Catherine De Filippo; and many nieces and nephews. Committal services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 1994, at 12:00 noon at the Bloom City Cemetery. Reverend MArty Nolet will officiate with burial in the Bloom Cirv Cemetery.
