Wisconsin moves over to Ann Arbor today for a doubleheader against Michigan, while the Spartans will entertain Northwestern in another twin bill. Journal) EAST LANSING, Mich -Michigan State put a crimp in Wisconsin's hopes of climbing in the Big 10 Conference baseball race this weekend by defeating the Badgers. 5-3, here Friday. Big Dick Radatz pitched six-hit ball for the Spartans and sophomore centerfielder Al Lup-low took care of the offensive department with two home runs. Michigan State picked up two more runs in the third on Dick Golden's single and Luplow's first homer, a shot over the right field fence.

Badger Rally Fails The Spartans made it 4-0 in the seventh. Jim Conlin singled to left, moved to serorvi on a sacrifice, went to third wnen a Badger pickoff attempt backfired, snd scored on a groundout. Wisconsin rallied in the top of (he eighth but the spurt fell one run short. Russ Mueller was safe Marty Stillman of Wisconsin dropped his second game in the Big 10 and evened his record at 2-2 in the conference. He is 5-4 on the season.

The Badger righthander was tagged for 11 hits. Luplow was Stillman's particular nemesis. After Stillman struck out the first two men he faced, the Spartan lefty swinger slapped a single to right. Dean Look of football fame followed with a double to left-center, scoring Luplow with the first run of the game. WISCONSIN 3 night handed Lew Milwaukee mound ace, his first defeat of the season after five straight victories and beat the Braves, 3-2, behind the steady pitching of righthander Brooks Lawrence. The only runs scored against Lawrence were on homers by Eddie Mathews and Frank Torre in the eighth. It was the 10th homer for Mathews, who leads the National League in that department, and the first by Torre.
