He covered the distance In 11:49.7, some 20 seconds and 75 yards ahead of Wayne Shell of Fairmont East. Clarence Johnson of Dunbar was the top finisher In AA In 12:49.9 while Todd McKinney of Bethel had the best time in Class A In 13:03.9 In the Springfield Sectional, Northmont's Todd Saul was the best AAA runner In 12:41.6, Derreck Murray of Northeastern topped the AA runners in 13:07.5 and Tom Thaman of Sidney Lehman led the Class A runners in 12:39.7.

THE TOP FOUR teams In AAA and AA and the top three teams in A from the Dayton and Springfield sectionals advance to the Southwestern District meet next Saturday at Weatherwax Golf Course in Mlddletown. The top 12 Individual finishers In AAA and AA and the top nine In A (not on an advancing team) also move on to the District. Fairmont East won the AAA team title in Dayton with 48 points, Beavecreek was second with 72, Centervllle third with 82 and Miamisburg fourth with 136. Favored Eaton won the A A with 63, Brookvllle had 90, Dunbar 102 and Belibrook 104. Dayton Christian had no trouble in A with 24 points, Bethel had 59 and Waynesville 72.

Greenon captured the Springfield AAA title with 70 followed by Northmont with 81, Greenville 104 and Fairborn Baker 130. Northeatern had 34 In AA, Northridge 101, Miami East 123 and Tipp City 130.
