Officers 'for the coming year are to be elected, plans for furnishing large supplies for war sufferers must be laid, and the reports for all the work of the chapter during the past year will be' submitted at the meeting. The most Interesting report, perhaps, will be the one on the establishment and operation of the emergency hospital during the influenza epidemic, where excellent work was done In the care of the sick of the town. The plans for furnishing garments and supplies for war sufferers In large quantities will be gone over at to night's meeting, and some arrangements made to undertake this work at the earliest possible date. The heaefquartera in Harrlsburg street will be open for public inspection to night. Many Interesting articles will be on exhibition which have been made in connection with war work.

The exhibition will include a large number of articles made by the chapter for soldiers at the front. It is urged that all members of the local chapter attend the meeUng to RED CROSS ACTIVE WITH HOLIDAY PARCELS Announcement was made at iha Red Cross headquarters in Harrlsburg street, that relatives of soldiers abroad can secure cartons for Christmas packages without having labels, is was formerly necessary. If the rooms of the Red Cross Chapter should not be open at the time anyone calling for cartons, they can be secured at 356 Pine street. Such packages must be sent by November 30. NEW AMBULANCE ARRIVES The new ambulance for the Bethlehem Steel Company has arrived and will be put into service in a short time.

The ambulance contains four stretchers and its style is along army lines. TO HOLD FESTIVAL Announcement has been made that the High school festival, an annual event of much interest, will be held December 6, in Felton Hall. The festival was to have been held at an earlier date, but the influenza closing order made this impossible. The proceeds of the festival will be used by the school for athletics. JOHN W.

SCHOOL CHILDREN LABOR That members of the St. James' Parochial School did their share In helping to raise Steelton's quota for the United War Work Fund, was shown when it was stated yesterday that each pupil had pledged $5 to the fund. Forty.six pupils contributed the sum of $230. Helped New Jersey Raise Its War Fund Quota Alfred Franklin Hoffsommer, of Old has Just returned, from New Jersey, where for the past month he has been directing the United War, Work Campaign. New Jersey was asked to provide $5,500,000 of the $170,500,000 fund, and greatly oversubscribed its quota.

This is the third consecutive war work campaign which Mr. Hoffsommer has directed in New Jersey, and with its successful consummation he closes a period, of over twelve years in service of this character, which has been rendered in practically all parts of the United States for hospitals; colleges, T. M. C. A.s and other similar organizations.

HARRISBURO VSP TELEGRAPH NOVEMBER 20, 1918. ft "WORLD RELIEF WEEK" PLANNED FOR DECEMBER i Special Program Arranged to ShowNecd of Food "World Relief Week" will be observed nationally during the week beginning December 1. It will be observed in Harrlsburg churches and Sunday schools and public schools through the efforts of the Dauphin County Food Administration. The week originally Was named as Conservation Week, and has been arranged by the Federal food admin istration to Impress with the necessity of saving "food even though the war has ended.

Churches, Sunday and public schools will receive special articles prepared by Herbert Hoover, which they will read Into their regular programs. The' church congregations will hear the articles through their pastors, who will be requested to read them Sunday morning, December 1. Special exercises are to be arranged by the schools for the Friday following. The local administrator Is preparing for the observance pf the program here. At a conference of county food administrators and their assistants in Philadelphia, Friday, with Howard The; Live Store Bom I 304 Market Street Heinz, state food administrator, plans for the continued important activities of the food administration will be outlined. Frank assistant to Donald McCormlck, county food administrator, and John C. Jes sup, director of the Women's division of the Dauphin County Food Administration, will accompany Mr. McCormlck to the conference. The Dauphin county food administrator has been advised that the current fair price schedules on flour and feed will continue In force without any change, for some time at least.

Myers, of 122 North River street, have just received a card from their son, Waldo L. Myers, announcing his safe arrival overseas. This is Mr. Myers' eighth trip across, having been attached to a convoy fleet for more than a year. He has now been transferred to the United States Steamship Bushnell, a mother ship to eight submarines, as quartermaster.

He sailed from Philadelphia for Queenstown, Ireland, October SI, there to meet the vessel to which he has been assigned. ST. ANDREW'S AUXILIARY The Red Cross Auxiliary of St. Andrew's Church will meet this evening, as usual. The rooms will not be open during Thursday of this and next week.

At seven o'clock Thursday evening, all members are urged to meet at the St. Andrew's Church, at 7 o'clock, uniformed, to go in a body to the lecture at the Technical High School building.
