Rona Barrett 'stunned' by 'Tomorrow' co-host life i difficulties in working out the new format for the show, and we are trying to resolve them as soon as possible." Miss Barrett apologized to her guests and walked off the set both nights. Sources on the show say that Snyder didn't want to share the opening segment and that Miss Barrett didn't want her portion of the show dependent upon Snyder's fancy. "I believe that it was very clearly understood that I was the West Coast host of the new 90-minute Tomorrow' show," Miss Barrett said In an interview. "The show is owned by NBC and not by Mr. Snyder." Miss Barrett's addition to the program came when the show was expanded to 90 minutes from an hour, a circumstance that coincided with an apparent diminishing of Snyder's standing with the network.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Rona Barrett, NBC's Hollywood reporter, says she was "stunned" when "Tomorrow" show co-host Tom Snyder failed to introduce her for two consecutive nights, leaving her and her guests in a dead Burbank studio. "He told me I was trying to steal his program," Miss Barrett said Wednesday evening. "I was Snyder, who hosted the show alone until being Joined this season by Miss Barrett, did not introduce his West Coast co-host on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. On the air Tuesday night, Snyder explained Miss Barrett's absence by say- -ing there had been "communications difficulty." He would not comment off the air. NBC'S ONLY OFFICIAL comment was, "There have been some creative 1 i ill Li-- 1 In i i 'Dallas stars Steve Kanaly (L), Linda Gray, Larry Hagman Sunday episode was most-watched program of the week in ratings Just leave it to J.R.

The network whetted viewers' appetites for the denouement in the week ending Nov. 9 and came out in first place in the prime-time ratings race, according to figures from the A.C. Nielsen Co.

In fact, CBS listed nine of the Top 10 shows and 12 of the first 13 to win the networks' ratings competition for the second straight week. The "Dallas" series focuses on the wheelings and dealings of the Ewing klan. J.R. Ewing, perhaps the meanest man on TV, was shot and seriously wounded last season, but the culprit has not been fingered.

Nielsen says that means of all the nation's TV-equipped homes, 40 percent saw at least part of the Sunday night show.
