and Mrs. Ernest Madison had their daughter, Wanda Ibison, her husband Ray, and the children, from Louisiana, in their home for Christmas. Wally Madison, who is employed in Barllcsvlllc was home for several clays. From a communication to friends in Noel from Mildred and Noah East who now live in Hawthrornc, it has been learned that Gilbert is in Korea, and that he has recently some honors and a promotion for belonging to the best machine gun squad in Korea. Mrs.

A. Dean Scott returned from a visit in Oklahoma just before Christmas, bringing with her her daughter, Donna Dean, from Oklahoma City to spend Christmas in the home. Vcston and Ruth 'Southcrland went to Heber Springs, for 'Christmas. Their visit was cut short by the entrance of Vcston's basketball team in the Blue and Gold tournament the first game being played Monday of this week. (And won by Noel.) Several INocl people visited in the home of Stella Rue, her sister and husband, Dick and Ethel Boylan during the Christmas holidays.

One of her callers delivered for Stella the holly corsages she had made for her friends in Noel and Lanagan- only one of Stell's gentures. She was also remembered by many of those with whom she corresponds, including Katherine Marshall, 'Wife of the Peter Marshall. Mrs. Esther Garner and her son, Allen, spent Christmas in Kansas City where they were joined by Mrs. Garner's three other sons.

Tom was having a furlough from his servicie as a paratrooper just prior to going overseas; Lloyd, who had just returned from Korea, and Bill, who works in Kansas City, made up the family circle. When the sisn "It's a Girl" appeared in Paul Howarth's Drug Store window last 'Saturday morning a great many persons were interested and happy. Then as questions followed the additional information appeared in the window: Name. Laura Sue, weight seven pounds and 14 ounces; time of birth, two minutes after midnight, December 23. S-Sgt.

and Mrs. Ed Haase visited Mr. and Mrs. Tom Haase Monday evening. Mr.

Everett Manning. Robert and his family returned Wednesday morning to Lake City, after first visiting with Ginger's parents, the Lcc Mainlines in Sulphur Springs. Jerry will return to San Diego later in the week. Sharing Christm'as dinner with the Manning family was Miss Jean Eldrige of Sulphur Springs. Bob and Jean Dav and family are here from California spending the holidays with Bob's parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Charlie Davis, his brothers Jim, Don and and their families; and Jean's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Harris. Jimmy Weaver was able to be back in his home time for Christmas after staying in one of the Slabsides Cabins for the past two months while his home was being completely remodeled.

Mrs. Delia Stauber, who has employment in Tulsa, came home last Friday evening to spend the holidays with the Staubers of Noel and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cloud of Lanagan. Joyce and Jo McMillen have returned from Kansas City after spending the holidays with the "Doc" McMillens and e's mother, Mrs.

Vivian Clark and her sister, Jcannie. The Charlie Carrol's had their son, Jack home for Christmas. lack has been stationed at Camp Chaffee since his induction into the service. Noel people were awakened about 3:00 a.m. Tuesday by the fire siren.

Those who got out at that hour learned that a deisel engine on an early morning train had caught fire. The rest had to wait until morning, there being no local operator to call, as in the past. An untcntional barbcque took place in Sulphur Springs at the Wyatt Meat plant when about 30 hams and bacons became overheated in the smoke house, Tuesday. Those who followed (he aroma to its origin and received samples reported the barbequc very tasty, resulting in a quick "firesale" of hams and bacons on the spot. Kansas dly, and Mrs.
