DILLON, April Special services will be held at the First Baptist church tomorrow in celebration of its golden anniversary. The regular morning hour of worship will begin at, 11 o'clock. A program beginning tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock will consist of a review of the church's activities during Its 80 years in the community and the speakers will Include Mrs, F.

E. Foole, only charter member of the church now residing in Dillon; Mrs. Louise Taylor, Mrs. E. C.

Perkins, Miss Kate Lewis and R. E. Albright. Described as a survey of the present and a prediction of the future, the evening program will begin at 1:30 o'clock and speakers will be the Rev. O.

A. Schmidt, G. T. Paul, Dr. Sheldon E.

Davis and Dysart Gowan. Special music will be a feature of the program. A fellowship supper will be served tomorrow evening at 6 o'clock at the Baptist cottage. The Dillon Baptist church was founded 50 years ago yesterday, March 31, 1883, and the present building was dedicated In 1886. The first resident pastor was the Rev.

Frank Bostwick. Mrs. Foote of Dillon and Mrs. Abbie Hansen of California are the only two living charter members. The present pastor Is the Rev.

R. O. Shannon. FOR CITY 1DTE 5,632 Persons Qualified to Ballot Monday In Smelter City. ANACONDA, April All preliminary arrangements for the municipal general election Monday were completed today, according to City Clerk Joseph Swanson.

A total of 5,633 persons are qualifted-to ballot to elect a mayor, city treasurer, police magistrate and six aldermen for two-year terms. Polls will be open Monday, 8 o'clock in the morning until 6 p. m. Judges and clerks have been and the polling places announced. Candidates follow: J.

Moore, republican arid Incumbent, and Frank Provost, democrat. McAndrews, democrat, and Leona Clemo, republican. Police P. Ruprecht, democrat, and Paul Everett, repub- ANACONDA, April Anaconda school election today was a. quiet affair, only two candidates being on the ballot for the two vacancies on the board to be filled for district No 10 Murray Flint, present member of the board, and Charles L.

TURPIN RITES TO BE HELD TODAY MINES' SCHOOL PROF. VIEWS MINERAL AREA DILLON, April Professor Eugene S. perry of the Montana School of Mines was a visitor In Dillon today and, In company with William Logan, Louis Sc'hmittroth and Pearl I. Smith, motored to the mineral area 15 miles west of Dillon which members of the Beaverhead Mining association wish to have surveyed this summer. The area lies between tracts surveyed a few years ago by Philip Shenon, then of the School of Mines.

In the past two years, the development of the Ermont mine and the discovery of other gold bearing properties In the vicinity have made the need" of a geological survey of the tract evident, members of the association said. Professor Perry's Inspection was for the purpose of ascertaining the probable cost of the needed survey. SCHOOL CARNIVAL IS HELD IN DILLON ANACONDA, April The body of Mrs. Ada Turpln, pioneer resident of Anaconda, succumbed Tuesday at the home of her daughter in Portand, arrived in Anaconda this morning. Mr.

and Mrs. Charles Reynolds, son- in-law and daughter accompanied it. The body was taken to the Ken- drlck funeral home, where many old-time friends called to pay their respects. Funeral services will be held at the Kendrick chapel at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon under the auspices of the Christian Science society. Interment will be In the family plot in Hill, cemetery.

ANACONDA, April Many neighbors nnd friends of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis E. Voorhles, attended the funeral services conducted this afternoon for their two-year-old son, Bennle Lee, who died In St. Ann's hospital Thursday morning.

Services wera conducted at 2 o'clock In the P. J. Finnegan company's funeral chapel. The little casket was banked with beautiful flowers. Elder A.

Fliinegan. company's chapel today to pay their respects to tho memory of Mrs. Sarah Harris, beloved pioneer of this city, who died Friday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clara Violette, 420 Jackson street, following an Illness of five years. The funeral will be held from the Fimiegan chapel Monday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock, proceeding to the Methodist church where services will be held at 2 o'clock.

The public is ANACONDA BRIEFS DILLON, April Beaverhead county high school's annual carnival came to a close tonight at the high school, with a large crowd enjoying the program of entertainment and the many features arranged by the students.

The balloting for the carnival queen came to. a close during the evening. Music, dancing and sketches were features of tonight's entertainment. Dancing was enjoyed from 9 to 12 o'clock, with Smithy's orchestra furnishing the music. ELKS SPONSOR DANCE.

DILLON, April Members of the Dillon Elks' lodge will sponsor a dance to be given at Armstead Saturday night, April 15, it was announced today by officers. An Elks' orchestra, comprising the outstanding musical talent of the lodge, will provide the music, and special entertainment will be presented. DILLON NOTES. A. Henault was ordered overruled following a hearing in the district court this morning before Judge R. E. McHugh. The defendant was given 10 days In which to prepare, flits and servo an answer.
