Two logansport, Indiana, Pharos-Wbuns 93 Year Old Man Paints Own House SEYMOUR, Ind. (UP)—Charles H. Davidson, despite his 93 years, is painting his house. All by himself. Inside and out. Davidson took a look around the neat white-trimmed brick home this spring and decided it needed prettying up. Never one'to turnover to somebody else a job he could do himself, Davidson got out his ladders and stirred a can of paint and started painting the exterior wood trim. Sometimes in order to reach the! trim he had to climb 25 feet above ground. When he finishes, he intends to paint the interior. But Davidson won't say for sure, because he might change his mind if the outside work turns out to be too rigorous—or if his wife of 61 years talks him out of it. Painting for Davidson is almost like coming out of retirement Davidson was a pamter by occupation most of his life. Until he was 85, he put in a full week of work regularly. In 1949, he decided, to take it a little easier and accepted only a limited number of painting jobs in summer months. Three years ago, at the age of 90, he quit painting altogether. But Davidson's heal* was so good he kept busy at household tasks and figured if he could mow his own lawn and do other odd jobs around the bouse, he could paint. His wife, Rosa, says it's hard to keep him from doing more work than he should at his age.
