Ar- imn Schmidlin, Nelson, Wis. Mr. Wilson is toe son of Alfred Wilson, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. The couple was married in the Lutheran church at Nelson June 21, and will make their home in Nelson. George Bacons Honored by 225 At Open House Fountain, To honor Mr.

and Mrs. George Bacon on their 50th wedding anniversary, an open house was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, Fountain. The church, was decorated with flowers and gold-colored candles. A program given during the afternoon ia the church included a sketch given by Arent Cloutier, Duluth, nephew of the couple, of their married life. Miss Hattie Tienter and Mr.

Bacon were married June 30 at At- rand, S. D. They farmed there for nearly 19 years, during which time they became the parents five sons. In 1919, they came to Minnesota to a farm east of Fountain, where in 1921 their daughter was bora. They farmed there for 20 years after which they moved to Fountain village where they still reside.

Of their five sons, Arthur lives near Lanesboro, Clayton in Fountain, Lloyd and Harvey in Rochester and at present, Norval is in Montana. Their only daughter, Lois, (Mrs. Herbert Sandefur) lives in Glasgow, Mont. They have 16 grandchildren, all but three of helped celebrate Mr. and Mrs.

Bacon's golden wedding day. Following Mr. Cloutier's reading, a song, "Keep your Heart in Tune," was sung by Sharon Kappers, accompanied by her mother, Sirs. Edwin Kappers; a poem, "Fifty Years Gone By," was giv. en by Darrell Bacon; a solo, "Through the Years," by Gladys Wright, by Lila Eickhoff; an accordion solo, "God Be With You Till We Meet Again," by Arlys Kapper, and a duet, "The Haven Rest," by Ethel and Betty Roos, accompanied by Gladys Wright.

Greetings and prayer were given by the Rev. Mary MacNicholl The program closed with the sing ing of "Rock of Ages." A lunch including an anniversary cake, furnished by the family, was served by the Women's Society of Christian Service. About 225 relatives and friends attended. Among those from away were Mr. and Mrs.

Arent Cloutier Duluth; John Tienter, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Cloutier La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Everet Tienter and son Jerry, Austin; Mrs.

Gordia Dehn, Waterloo, Io. wa; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Drake and children, Betty and pale, Water town, S. and Virginia Wisman Grand Rapids, Mich.

Many gifts and cards were received by Mr. and Mrs. Bacon. At Fountain Home Fountain, Mr. and Mrs.

Ben Wisman and family, Grand Rapids, are spending several days at the Edward Roos home. Godfrey Kings Celebrate 50th Anniversary Durand, Wit. --(Special)-- Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey King, Sunny Brook Valley near Arkansaw, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday at their home with members of the family, relatives and friends numbering more than 50 present.

The couple received communion at the 7:30 a.m. mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Arkansaw, with their family Sunday. They have two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Joyce) Fedie, Durand, and Mrs.

Dennis (Beulah) Schlosser, Eau Galle, and eight grandchildren. In the afternoon a reception was held at the home which was decorated in flowers. Mrs. Fedie poured at the reception. Mr.

and Mrs. King, were married in St. Mary's Catholic church, Durand, June 26, 1901, the late Father Redding performing the ceremony and the late Mary Therrien and Peter J. King serving as attendants. Mrs.

King is the former Julia Latew. They have spent all their married life on a farm in Sunny Brook Valley. They are members of St. Joseph's Catholic church, Arkansaw, where on their anniversary, June 26, they were blessed and a mass was said in their honor. The fam- ly members were again present and all again received communion a body.

The day also marked he tenth wedding anniversary o) their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fedie who served an anniversary break- ast at their home in Durand. Mrs. King has four sisters, Mrs M.

King, Durand; Mrs. Albert Anderson, Fayette, Mrs. lalph Livingston, Minneapolis, and klrs. William Johnson, Anoka, and one brother, Archie, rand Rapids, Minn. A sister.

Mrs. George Walters, is dead. Mr. King has six brothers, John ing, Canada; George King, Cal- fornia; Joseph M. King, Durand Nelson and Thomas, Arkansaw and Plum City and four sisters Urs.

Clyde Wright, California; Mrs. Frank Olson, Pepin; Mrs Alex Marko, Spokane, and VIrs. A. J. Fraley, Minneapolis Three brothers, Phillip, Frank and Peter, are dead.

The couple received a number oi gifts and cards. Those from out oi present were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Livingston, Minneapolis; Mr, and Mrs. Fred Reinke and Mrs.

and Mrs W. C. Adams, 209 West Ninth street, Mankato, announce engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Beth Adams Roycraft, to Raymond Luehmann, Mankato, son of Mr and Mrs. Ben H. Luehmann, Lewis ton.

The wedding will take place August 5 at the First Presbyterian church in Mankato. The Rev. Howard Henke perorated the double-ring ceremony. Miss Rose Marie Warner, Winona, cousin of the bride, played a irogram of organ music preced- ng the ceremony and used "Marche Nuptiale" and "Marche Trium- ihant" by Sassmannshausen as the irocessional and recessional. She ilso accompanied Mrs. Peter Speerstra, who sang Per- 'ect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs.

Speerstra is also a cousin of the bride. Carroll Schroeder, Oregon, gave his sister in marriage. She wore white satin with fitted bodice juttoning to the waist, lace inserts the long sleeves and a shaped collar of lace. Her net veil fell Irom a lace cap and she carried white and stephanotis. Miss Mary Louise Johnson, sis ter of the bridegroom, was the bride's only attendant.

Her gown ol light blue imago organdy was fashioned with a tucked bodice, tiny Peter Pan collar and full skirt. She carried Esther Rend daisies. Douglas Pederson, Kenosha attended his cousin as best man and Lloyd Windjue and Peter Speerstra, were ushers. The wedding cake decorated with tiny pink roses, was baked and presented to the couple by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Lawrence Engel, Alhambra, Calif.

A reception tor 75 guests was held in the church parlors. Mrs. Howard Engen, Miss Delores Foss and Miss Myrtle Iverson, Whitehall and Miss Florence Paulson, Eau Claire, served. The Mesdames Edmund Sylla and Ernest Langner served from the kitchen. Mrs.

Schroeder attended her daughter's wedding in a two-piece green print dress, the bridegroom's mother a black and white print, and his grandmother, Mrs. L. L. Solsrud, Whitehall, was in navy. All had white accessories and corsages of gardenias.

Following their wedding trip the couple will reside in Whitehall until fall when they will move to Augusta, Mr, Johnson having accepted a position teacher in the public schools there. He was graduated from Eau Claire State college the past spring. At present, he is employed by the Green Bay Western Railroad. Mrs. Johnson graduate of Whitehall High school, has been employed at the Fortun drugstore.

The Rev. W. Halvorson and the Rev. Joyce Nestingen, Grenora, N. a brother of the bride, performed the double-ring ceremony at 2:30 p.

m. Sunday. The gown worn by the bride who was given in marriage by her father, was made with white Chan- illy lace bodice sequin trimmed, mandarin collar, leg-of-mutton sleeves and white marquisette gathered skirt ending in a tram. Her flowers were Talisman roses and yellow daisies. Her veil was held in place by a tulle headdress caught with orange blossoms.

Miss Betty Anderson, Coon Valley, us maid of honor, wore a pink marquisette gown, and carried blue and white carnations. Miss Cleone Cordes, Mitchei, sister of the bridegroom, as bridesmaid, wore blue marquisette, and carried pink and white carnations. The junior bridesmaid, Marlene Nestin- gen, Blair, was in blue marquisette, and carried pink and white carnations. Pamela Nestingen, niece of the bride, Silver Spring, acted as a flower girl. another niece of the bride, also a flower girl, wore pink organdy, and carried a basket of pink and blue baby chrysanthemums. James Nestingen, Grenora, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer. The wedding march was played by Miss Helen Skogsmark, Derorah, Iowa, and soloists, accompanied by Miss Skogsmark, were Miss Kathleen Cordes, Mitchei, lister of the bridegroom, and Morris Schmidt, Avoca, Iowa. The bridegroom was attended by Ole Winter, Osage, Iowa. Dale Nestingen, St.

Paul, brother of Uie bride, and Harvey Berg, Arcadia, served as ushers. Bierbaum, Kyota, Saturday evening at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church, Eyota. The Rev. John G. Siegle performed the double-ring candlelight service.

Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Floyd Stacker, Eyota, who also accompanied Charles Von Wald, Eyota, when he sang "Because," Promise Me" and "The lord's Prayer." Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride was gowned in white slipper satin fashioned with an off-the-shoulder neckline, tulle yoke and crushed tulle fichu rimmed with satin rosebuds. The had long sleeves with a tulle ruffle at the wrists, fitted bodice and full hooped skirt ending in a cathedral train. Her veil of imported french illusion fell from a circlette of orange blossoms. Only jewelry worn by the bride was a double strand of pearls, gift of the bride groom.

Her bouquet was of red roses. Mrs. Alvin Bierbaum, Eyota matron of honor, wore white frost ed organdy over lilac taffeta, ane carried a colonial bouquet of glad ioli. Minn. --(Special)-Mr. and Mrs. Eugene J. O'Briem who were married at St.

Michael's church, Milwaukee, by Rev. A. W. Zuern in a double-ring ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, are now residing at 1207 "A South 16th street, Milwaukee.

Mrs O'Brien is the former Evelyn B. Hatlevig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence R. Hatlevig, St.

Charles, and Mr. O'Brien, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Kelupio, Hilo, Hawaii. The bride in a skipper blue wtt with navy and white and pearl earrings given to her by the bridegroom, wore a corsage of red roses.

The matron of honor, Mrs'. Joseph Gottachlich, Milwaukee, wore a fuchsia suit, matching accessories and a rliinestone brooch, gift of the bride. The bridesmaid. Miss Esther Hatlevig, Winona, sister of the bride, wore a navy suit, matching accessories and a rhinestone necklace, gift of the bride. The bridal attendants wore corsages of roses.

Joseph Gottachlich was best man and Thomas Kumlae, groomsman. Both are of Milwaukee. A wedding breakfast was served at the Richard Hillbus home and a reception followed. Jessie Dauchy, Santa Monica, Edward Eide, Long Beach, Calif and his sUter, Mrs. Nellie Riste, left Monday for California. Mrs. Dauchy and Mr. Eide are former Rushford residents.

Mrs. Stella Sprague, Los Angeles, who accompanied them here, left to visit in Ohio and Maine. She will return here later to take part in ceremonies at the completion of the $30,000 addition to the city library, which she donated this year. Mrs Sprague earlier donated the present library as a memorial to her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Visited were the gardens of Virg i Michel, Harmony; Harold Johnson home, with a terraced rock garden; Harry Bigalk farm, Bristol township, with natural grove background and numerous evergreens; Clifford Nelson farm home for co-operative lunch; Burton Spande farm home with rare varieties of perennials and shrubs; Ingvald Iverson home, Arendahl township, with a shrubbery background a triangular shaped flower bed in each corner of the yard; the Ing Smaby home, Peterson; the Carl Johnson home, Peterson, and the J. B. Gjerdrum home, north of Mabel.
