ADV't 8 1 I I NG SPECIAL I I I LvVS VEGAS Antique autos again will hit the road in Las Vegas Season opening at Dance Theatre The romantic ballet "Giselle" will open the Nevada Dance Theatre's 16th season Thursday. Nevada Dance Theatre is a professional ballet company in residence at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The "Giselle" production features NDT principal dancer Tamara Lohrenz and Ballet West's Bruce Caldwell as guest artist. "Giselle" will be performed at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 and 7 p.m.

Oct. 25. Performances will be in the Judy Bayley Theatre at UNLV, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. Tickets cost $17.50, $12.50 and $8.

Art Vargas, who portrays legendary superstar Bobby Darin, will sing the "National Anthem" to mark the beginning of the auto run. Johnny Jay's Ragtime Band will provide the music.

Just past the base, auto run participants will travel on 1-15 north to the Valley of Fire exit. The autos will turn right and continue through the Valley of Fire State Park. At the end of the park, a sign will direct traffic to turn left toward Overton. The cars will pass Overton and continue to Grant Bowler Park in Logandale, where the participants will be served a bar becued dinner catered by the Im- perial Palace, receive awards and be entertained by Johnny Jay's Band and the cast of "Legends in Concert," as well as play games. After the barbecue, the cars will backtrack 14.5 miles to the Overton cutoff.

They will continue straight past Echo Bay, Callville Bay and Las Vegas Wash on Lake Mead Drive. At Boulder Highway, they will turn right onto Sunset Road to Eastern Avenue. Continuing straight to Las Vegas Boulevard South, the cars will then turn right and continue back to the Imperial Palace, where they will cross the finish line by 4 p.m. In addition to the colorful antique autos, photo buffs can also take photos of the many participants wearing period costumes complementing their autos.
