Services 2 p.m., Monday (Zimmerman) Caywood Quits At Channel 16 Changes in leadership and operating format for WKTRTV (Ch. 16) were announced today by John Kemper, chairman of the board of the Kittyhawk Broadcasting Corp.

Kemper said that Kenneth Caywood, president and general manager of the station since its inception, had resigned effective immediately. WALLACE B. Waters, who has been sales manager, assumes the position of general manager, according to Kemper, and will continue to head the sales department. John Clark, program director, and Robert Dye, chief engineer, will continue in those posts. Next Monday, the station will begin operating on a nev time schedule, Kemper sard.

Sign-on time Monday through Friday will be 5 p.m. and the station will be on the air until 2:30 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays sign-on will be at 8 a.m. with continuous telecasting until 3 a.m. ALONG WITH the switch in on-the-air times, the station also is reverting to its original all-movie programming.

In recent months the station had ventured into some network programming with daytime shows from ABC and the Kraft Music Hall from NBC on Wednesday nights. The daytime shows are being dropped immediately according to Kemper, but the Music Hall and the Merv Griffin late night show will be continued, along with syndicated programs already contracted for. Eventually, the plan is to go to a 100 per cent movie operation, Kemper said, adding that the station's audience and sponsors had indicated a preference for such programming. He said similar operations in Detroit and New Orleans had been highly successful. Officer Escapes Injury in Crash A Dayton patrolman responding to a fire call escaped unhurt when his cruiser was almost demolished in an accident today.
