The successful bidder, when awarded the contract, shall deliver a bond with suitable, reasonable requirements, guaranteeing performance of the contract or (delivery to be made) with sufficient surety in the amount of 50 per cent of the amount of the contract if less than $5,000.00, or 100 per cent of the amount of the contract if $5,000.00 or over. Investigation is continuing. 18--Leader-Times Kittanning, Pa. March 20, 1974 Vandals 'Powder' SchooHiouse Floor Not only whodunit but why? This might well be the question on the minds of Kittanning police after investigating mischief at the Central Elementary School here last night. Police were called to the building at 7:07 p.m. 'by custodian James Yount to learn that someone had spread powdered cleanser through three rooms on the third floor.

Officers said footrpints in the powder showed the culprits left through the main door on N. McKean Street. Other than the effort expended to clean up the mess, no damage was reported. Yount told police the incident apparently occurred between 5 and 6 p.m. while he was out to dinner.

Death Record J.Frank Dim mitt J. Frank Dimmitt, 91, of Kittanning RD 2, died at 1.0 p.m. yesterday at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born May 2, 1882 in West Franklin Township, he was a son of Henderson and Adina (Hawk) Dimmitt. A member of Mt.

Union Reformed Church, he retired Jan. 1, 1950, from the T. W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co. His first wife, Pearl (Ruffaner) Dimmitt, died in 1954 and his second wife, Smyna (Davis) Dimmitt, died in 1972.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Paup of Worthington RD four sons, James F. Jr. of Flint, Arthur B. of Kittanning RD 2, Delbert R.

of Pottstown and Herbert C. of Lansing, three step-daughters, Mrs. Morris (Lucille) Hummel of Knox, Mrs. Floyd (Anna) Smith of Buffalo, N.Y. and Mrs -Vincent (Kathleen) Mortimer of Huntingdon; one sister, Mrs.

Cora Milligan of Worthington; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A son and daughter are deceased. DIMMITT--Friends of J. Frank Dimmitt, who died March 19, 1974, will be received after 7 p.m. today at J.

Burial will be in i i a Cemetery, Worthington. Arrangements by Kennedy. Calvin Horm Calvin 68, of" Reynoldsville RD 1, died at 12:30 a.m. March 3 at his home. Born August 21, 1906 in Winslow Township, Jefferson County, he was a son of Lewis and Loretta (Doney) Horm.

A driller by occupation, he was a member of BPO Elks Lodge of Reynoldsville. In 1937, he married Stella (Dziedzic) Horm, who survives him. Also surviving are two sons, Calvin Jr. of Arlington, Mass. and Michael of Surf Side Beach, S.C.; four daughters, Sylvia Ishman of Iva, S.C., Mrs.

Beverly Voytek and -Miss Marilyn Horm, both of Conneaut, Ohio and Miss Candace Horm of Erie; five sisters, Mrs. Cora Enterline of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Charles A. (Carmen) Doverspike of Ford City, Mrs. Bernice Morehouse of Pittsburgh, Mrs.

Wareham, 101, of Weinels Crossroads, Leechburg died at 3 p.m. today at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. A daughter of George and Hettie (Rhodes) Grantz, she was born Sept. 28, 1872, in Bethel Township. Her husband, Alvin T.

Wareham died in 1945, and a son, Homer, died in 1962. Mrs. Wareham was formerly of Leechburg and was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church there. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Haddon of Leechburg; one grandchild; one great-grandchild, and two great-great-grandchildren.

WAREHAM Friends of Mrs. Mary M. Wareham, who died March 20, 1974, are being received from 7 9 this evening and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at the Clawson Funeral Home, 2nd and Main Leechburg. Service will be p.m.

Parked Auto Demolished In Water Street Mishap Kittanning police say a car was demolished early this morning while parked in front of the home of its owner, Sidney Moss of 310 N. Water St. Officers say a car traveling north and driven by Charles Thomas, 65, of Kittanning RD 6 collided with the Moss auto. Thomas told police his car had pulled to the right. Damage to Thomas' 1965 sedan was estimated at $300.

KHS '59 Grads To Meet Members of Kittanning High School's Class of 1959 have scheduled a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the possibility of holding a reunion. The planning session, organizers said, will be held in Room 303 of the Junior High School here. Meeting is open to all interested '59 graduates. THE CHIEF FINED $200 Helen E.

Duckworth of The Chief, a Kittanning RD 1 restaurant, was fined $200 for permitting minors to frequent and sales to minors in violation of a restaurant liquor license, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board reported. Notable Deaths From Everywhere: LOS ANGELES (UPI) -Funeral services were to be held today for Carroll Nye, 72, former actor, publicity man and radio editor of the Los Angeles Times, who died Sunday at his North Hollywood home. Nye had juvenile roles in silent films, including Lon Chaney's "While the City Sleeps," and later in early talking pictures with Loretta Young, Myrna Loy and Dolores Costello. In the 1930s he wrote a daily radio column for the Times and later went into publicity work for Young and Rubicam, CBS and ABC. State police at the Kittanning substation arrested four Pittsburgh men yesterday afternoon, who were allegedly removing copper wire from poles along the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad tracks in Rayburn Township.

Remanded to Armstrong County Jail were William Joseph Kaminski, 21, of 236-45th Robert Paul Warywoda, 22, of 112-44th Daniel Anthony Warywoda, 32, of 274-45th St. and Stephen Francis Coleman, 31, of 4312 Foster St. Troopers here were called to the scene shortly after 1:15 p.m. when officials at the and regional office at Du Bois called to say they had lost communications in the area. Police say two suspects were arrested in a truck at the scene, while two others were caught shortly after they ran into nearby hills.

A helicopter summoned to the scene, was not needed as the two were apprehended before it arrived. Authorities say all the communications wire was recovered at the scene. About five miles of wire in ten strands reportedly was cut down from between 16 poles. Meeting Log: Kittanning Lions Club, Thursday at Junior High auditorium N. Five Injured In FC Crash FORD CITY Five persons were injured and two cars demolished in a crash at 4:15 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of 4th Ave. and 13th here. Stephen Turek, 16, of Ford Cliff, driver of one of the cars is in satisfactory condition today at the Armstrong County, Memorial Hospital with head injuries. Two passengers in the Turek car were treated and released from the hospital's emergency room.

They were David Henderson, 15, of McGrann, contusions of the head and knee, and John Rosol, 15, of 421-6th Ford City, abrasions of the left knee. Marie Shaeffer, 53, of McGrann, driver of the other car sustained lacerations of the right arm for which she was treated and released. Barbara Shaeffer, 8, of McGrann was admitted to the hospital with shoulder injuries and is in satisfactory condition. According to Ford City Police, Turek driving northward on 4th Ave. and the Shaeffer car moved eastward on 13th St.

The two collided at the intersection. After impact, the Turek car was shoved against a utility pole over the curb and the Shaeffer machine ran across the road, over the sidewalk, across a lawn and into the front porch of the home of Tom Young, 1304-4th Ave. The lawn was rutted and several bricks were loosened on the porch, police said.
