SOLD BY ALL I'RtTOGlSTS A iNKWB reporter Bi Oui. IUIB morning to sea what other people thought of yesterday, our meeting, the crowd the benefit the meeting was to Hutchinson. The first he interviewed was Mayor Vincent, and he had the following to say: "I was very agreeably surprised at the size of the crowd here yesterday and I think, if anything, the NKWS put it at too small a figure when it said 25,000 visitors. I am also proud of another thin? and that is that up to this time, 10 o'clock, not a report has been made to the police of a fight or robbery yesterday, and there were' only four arrests for drunkenness. I don't believe there is another state in the Union, nor another city in Kansas, that could entertain a crowd had yesterday and have as good a police record.

Governor McKinley said to me last night after the speaking that his meeting in Hutchinson would never be forgotten by him. It was by far beyond his expectations. That he expected to see'a few, thousand people here, bnt never dreamed of such a monster demonstration as that of yesterday and last night, and it would always be with pleasure that he would remember the kind treatment and many courtesies he received here. There is another thing, Mr. NKWS I wish yon would find out.

I want to know what the merchants of Hutchinson think of yesterday and if they feel repaid for the expense and trouble they were put to in bringing the McKinley meeting here," The NEWS man then started on his rounds interviewing merchants, and had the following result: I. Goldberg: "Yesterday's meeting was the best event that ever occurred in Hutchinson: the only regret we have is that we did not have more help. We had seven busy in our store all day and never took time to go to our meals, and still hundreds left the Store because no one was at leisure to wait on them. If we conld have every "day the trade -we lost yesterday for letelrof' we would- be-satlsfied, McKinley day brought more money to Hutchinson than any meeting'ever 8. 'F ''V ''1feEterdtty lijy trade was immense; Intact It was-the biggest day I have had in twenty-two years I have bean in --tliat Is saying 1 a 'great 'deal, tor I 'aa' manj "b'lg'aays." H.

(i the store yesterday to take notice, of the crowd, but it must have been I had a big trade. C. Vl. Runaway, manager of the American Clothing house: "Yesterday was the biggest day we ever had. We employed all the extra help we conld secure in the city, and still we could not near wait on the trade.

Yester day was a great day for the merchants of Hutchinson." Daggett Shoe never was such a crowd in Hutchinson. You can see our counters are still crowded with wo have not had time to put up yet from yesterday's trade. Wa had extra help and could have used more." J. 1). was the biggest day we ever had.

The people from a distance spent their money liberally. They seemed to recognize the fact that goods are sold cheaper here than anywhere else in the state. We missed a good many sales by not having help enough." Young "Yesterday's crowd was the biggest ever in Hutchinson, and our trade was the largest with one exception and that was a big day several years ago when we virtually had the only boot and shoe stock in the city. No doubt there was more money spent here yesterday than in any one day in the history of Kansas and we doubt if there is any other city in the state that eould take care of yesterday crowd as well as Hutchinson did." J. W.

Kanaga: "The crowd yesterday was a large one; I would not ven- ture to say how large. It was also a well behaved crowd." I Win. Keddersen: "Biggest crowd we ever had in Hutebinson and we were well satisfied with our trade. In fac i would like to have McKinley come to see us often." Dr. "If anything, the NEWS underestimated the size of it last night," Youngbeim Tanneba-nm: "Our business yesterday was excellent.

We had extra help and still eould not wait on half the people who came to see us. We never bad a bigger dny. There was never as lnrge a crowd of people in Hutchinson ns there was yesterday, and never a crowd that behaved better." The Leader Dry Goods Company: "Yesterday's crowd, in number of people, was tha biggest'day ever seen in Hutchinson. In point of business it must have been satisfactory! at least was with us. Yesterday proved the Even the newspapers did business yesterday.

The NKWK printed esttra copies last night, and all but about twenty were sold. Last night edition of the Daily NKWR was the largest edition of a daily printed in the city since the 10,000 boom edition 'several years ago. Hundreds of visitors called at our ofilee and said they were in favor of holding all big meetings In Kansas in the future at Hutchinson, for no other town treated strangers with the consideration that we did. The NKWS says, let them come, and will do its share in making thehl welcome and comfortable. Nlco lushes.

THE OLD SETTLERS. fact that there is no town in Kansas where large crowds Would prefer to congregate more than at Hutchinson, for the reason our many railroads bring them here and get them homn; in one day, our hotels and lunch houses furnish them plenty to eat, and pur merchants furnish them goods cheaper than any town in the state. Jno. A. DeTar: Mr.

DeTar was out of the city yesterday, but the clerk in charge says they enjoyed a good trade. Sehermerhoro Harper: "It was a big crowd and a great enthusiastic rally. Everybody felt good and enjoyed their visit to Hutchinson. We sold several out of town Vllls yesterday." Docherty, Kramer and Thompson: Yesterday was the banner day for Hutchinson, both in numbers here and the amount of trade done by the merchants. Our business was in every way satisfactory.

Hutchinson Hardware Company: The biggest crowd of people ever seen in Hutchinson. We sold several out of town orders, but these big crowds asa rule don't help hardware business. We like to see the big gatherings, though, and from the way our visitors talked yesterday there is no town in Kansas they would rather visit than P. Martin "There was by far the biggest crowd of people in Hutch inson yesterday ever known in its tory. We had the largest trade we ever had.

We had seventy-eight sales people and then could not wait on our trade. A number of the visitors stayed over until today to trade with Martin We will keep our extra force of help for the rest of the week. All my guests expressed them selves as satisfied and huudreds remarked 'there is no other town i Kansas with the hotel accommodations as Hutchinson; it is the place for big meetings; we want to come again. Yesterday's jneeting will give Hutch- inson a reputation all over the United 1 States." A.

J. Higley, ftrunswick Hotel: "It was the grandest crowd ever seen in Kansas. The Hotel Brunswick also did the biggest business it its history. My house was filled last night and the night before. We fed all who called and the uumber ran up the hundreds.
