Templeton lived In this city for a number of years. lie was a carpenter by trade, and at one time while at work on the Cross building fell from the root, the awning saving his life. He kept a small fruit stand also on State street at the Ellis building. Templeton was 35 years of age, and besides a wife leaves two children. Grant Templeton, as be was better known in this city, bas not been in stable mind for some time.

His tfomestlc troubles unsettled blm. Some years ago he was examined by Dr. Macouiber. and his father was then told that be must be kept quiet and away from excitement. If he lived, the doctor said, be expected he would nd in the asylum.

When seen In this city last Tuesday be acted nervous and deranged. Being un-sucessful iu getting bis wife to go home with him his condition was not improved. He went back on the midnight train, and as near as can be figured be took the morphine at noon Wednesday, and was discovered about 4 o'clock. There were 60 grains in the bottle and betook 50 grains. lbe label was found In the stove, but where the, morphine was purchased is unknown.

In the letter Templeton left for his wlfo he asked her forgiveness for what he was going to do. After be was found he did not ence gain consciousness. The drug had then been too far assimilated by his system to be recovered. Tne funeral is to take wlace at 10 o'clockfjaturday at Northfield, from the house and the body will be taken to North Montpelier for burial. The deceased was a half brother of Mrs.

W. J. Pollard, Mrs. Louis Pollard and Clyde Templeton, of this city, and a brother of Mrs. William S.

Snepardson, of Springfield, Mass, and Clara Templeton, ot Los Angeles, Cal. Two sons aged 9 and 7 years survive beside a widow. A CARD. Mr. Sheiard was 55- years of age. and was a long sufferer with palsy. He had threatened to take his life on a number of occasions. It was only the other day he told a mail carrier at Middlesex be would kill himself before long.
