Mr. Cole was a former member of the Miami, Florida Rotary Club, the Miami Executives Association, the Miami Club, the Riviera Country Club of Coral Gables, the Memphis Country Club, the Five Lakes Outing Club in Hughes, AK and the Anniston Country Club. Mr. Cole was also a former member of the European Security Transport Association, the Spain Security Transport Association, and Ligue Internationale des Societe de Surviellance.

He was the former Vice Chairman of the Private Security Services Council and the American Society for Industrial Security. Mr. Cole was also the former President of the National Armored Car Association. He served as a deck officer with the U.S. Maritime Service, a Lieutenant in the U.S.

DRAKE Mrs. Edith Sutherland Drake, age 86, died September 2, 1997. She had resided at Wesley Woods Towers, and most recently, Budd Terrace, since 1990. She was a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She had lived in Wenonah, New Jersey for many years, where she was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Chapman Drake, formerly of Buford, GA.

She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Jean and David Groves, of Murray, KY, her son and daughter in-law, Walt and Beverly Drake, of Dekalb County, her sister, Jean Bailey, of Klamath Falls, OR, and eight grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 1997 at the City of Buford Cemetery, Buford, Georgia, with Dr. Jasper N. Keith, Jr.

Although she knew the inevitable outcome, she courageously struggled to keep her dignity. She died suddenly of natural causes. Survivors include her daughter, Candace Hoffman Payton, of Lithonia, Georgia, and her son, James Pete Hoffman, of Salisbury. She is also survived by her sisters, Marie Scholes, Faye Jarvis, and Grace Foster, her brother, Jack Plemmons, and three grandchildren. Her husband, Jack Sneed died in 1990.
