Peter MeCourt of Denver, in the dainty drawing room, where the receiving party were grouped in a graceful netnl circle, great lium liea of l4 roses ehed their wealth of fra grance on the itrr, that vibrated with the exqulHltemuHle, continuously sent i forth from mandolin orchestra, con cealed by stately palms. Trailing vines of smllax festooned the chandeliers and at every turn some lovely Jardiniere I i filled with rare, flowers claimed both the attention and admiration of the be Iioldor. The entire lower floor pres anted an attractive appearance, brll llnntly illuminated with electric llghtd, The decorations were arranged with pleasing and artlctle effect and In such manner as to show up to the' best advantage every lovely apartment.

The dining room was nothing less than a gem In Jt artlwttc conception. It was all ln ami blender voses nf red carnations, lent a graceful dignity to every cabinet, eldoboard and man tel. A large square table filled the en ter of the room. From the chandelier festoona of smllax and crimson ribbons were brought down to tlm eOge of thttable and confined with graceful bows of smllax. A crlmHon bell suspended over a cylinder of American beauty roses added their tribute of fragrance to the sum total of enter tainment offered.

While red turning under crimson Bhades, bathed In a rcdy glow, the two young ladles Miss Fannie Clark and' Miss Blanche AlcCann. a they dispensed a delightful frappe from a block of Ice. In an inviting nook, where the same color scheme was carried out. Mies Llda Rob berson and Miss Louise Maguey presided over the coffee urn. In the reception ball and library, vases and bowls of narcissus shared their popularity with the wealth and fragrance of the Jteynote of the deccrntlons.

The large double parlors were attravtlvely decorated with flow at th era and lovely silken draperies were touched up here and there, with bright glimpses of the warm color of rosoi.

After the devotional exercises a social hour followed and a delightful pro gramme, blended with pleasing liter ary and musical numbers, contributed much to the enjoyment of the guests. Miss Hattic Brook end Mlse Jessie Laurence read very entertaining pa pers and Just before refreshments were served Miss Katherrne Wilcox Tendered eeveral vocal selections In her usual charming style. Mrs. Oscar Headley and Mrs. Charles Brooks will entertain the Afternoon Card club at the home of the former Tuesday afternoon.

Mrs. A. Z. Chambers entertains the Wednesday Euchre club next W'ednes day afternoon. Mrs.

George Smith entertained the choir of St Johns Episcopal church with a few friends last Tuesday night at her home on Washington avenue. Vocal selections by some of the mem bers of the choir and card were en Joyed until supper was announced. The dining room, which was thrown open mas beautifully decorated with flowers and an elaborate supper was served In courses to Mr. and Mrs. Dlgby.
