rrr MORGANTOWN. W. Va Oct 80. (P.p.) The University of Missouri overwhelmed West Virginia, university on Mountaineer Field today. 2T to 0, before a crowd of 20,000 spectators.

It was the first time the Mountaineers have been beaten In the new stadium and tho most de cleivo defeat they have suffered since 1M0. Missouri's big Una stopped the West Virginia running attack, and the westerners had airtight defense against the Mountaineers overhead aiunk, Missouri, on tho other hand, displayed a powerful and brilliant running attack and a deceptive aerial offensive that baffled West Virginia, Mlaaourl's first touchdown cam ater a 68 yard march In the second quarter. Three 11ns plays and two forward passes took the ball from the Mluourl 87 yard line to the West Virginia 6 yard line. After three line plays had failed to gain, 6tuber shot a forward pass to Llndenmeyer over the goal line, The second touchdown was made In the third quarter when O'Sulll van Intercepted a paaa on the West Virginia 4'J yard Hue. On the next play, r'lamanch ran 40 yards to the two yard line.

The Quakers started a smashing drive down the field In the third quarter and with the ball on Illlno'a' IB yard Hue, on fourth down, decided to pin their whole hopes on the line crashing against Wascalonls. Wascalonls drove through center, but his best was not enough and the ball was but an Inch short of tho coveted first down.
