WJONNETTC aad WIFE. Rubber Cotton Hose Stewards of Trinity Would Rot Recon elder Their Flret Vote. The stewards of the Methodist society held a meeting Saturday evening, and voted to sustain the previous vote taken to call Rev. Mr. Judklns, of Windsor, There has been some question about Rev, Andrew Gillie being transferred to the Troy conference, and In case be Is not transferred the subject of having him again as pastor of "Trinity church" baa been broached.

The stewards considered this, but could not see how, having voted to extend a oall to Mr. Judklns, they could consistently change tbe vote. Tbe Troy conference to which Mr. Gil lies wished to be transferred was ready to receive mm, provided one of their ministers could be transferred to the Vermont conference In his place. The man the Troy conference desired transferred to Vermont was not as good a man as Mr, Gillies, and consequently the Vermont members did not care to acauirsee to the cnangs unless as good a preacher was glv en in return.

Tbe Vermont' conference Is willing to allowMr. Gillies to go without any one to take his place, as there are a sufflolent number of clergymen now In the district, but the bishop of the Troy conference believed there would be one more than re quired In that conference In case this was done, and so could not coincide with the suggestion advanced by the Vermont con ference. Rev. W. R.

Davenport, the presiding elder, is endeavoring to arrange the matter satisfactorily, and a hone is entertain ed that Mr. Gillies will yet be successful In securing his transfer. OPXV TO THE PUBLIC Flab Commissioner J. W. Tltcomb has sent out extracts of Chapter 189, Vermont statutes, pertaining to publlo and private or posted waters.

Especial attention Is called to No. 101 Acts of 1898, amending section 4638. TJn der the amended law, all privately posted streams will be open to tbe publio for fish lng on May 1 next unless they or the oost- tm portions nave been stocked with art! nclally batched or reared fish at the expense of the owners or occupants who do tne posting.
